There really is a very sound argument that all the current legislation does with drugs is drive up the price and compound the problem for addicts, whilst making an absolute fortune for criminals. A terrible irony in the US is that the gateway drug to heroin, has turned out to be oxycodin, Percocet and vicodin, being prescribed by doctors, under the encouragement of pharmaceutical lobbyists. Around 70% of heroin users in the US, switch to heroin because it was cheaper than oxy or vicodin prescriptions. Problem is morality over pragmatisim. I think there should be a concern over legalisation maybe of 'cocaine and heroin', but everything else, should never have been illegal in the first place. It did far more harm criminalising these drugs than they did in the first place

DMT is, which is a component in the yage traditionally used to make ayahuasca, but I believe that a large number of DMT containing plants are legal in the UK - Its just that extracting DMT from them is illegal. whilst it might be difficult to actually get the traditional ingredients of ayahuasca - finding plants or seeds with sufficient levels of DMT or MAOI inhibitor in isn't all that difficult. And is likely a lot easier to stomach. Ayahuasca is notoriously difficult to keep down and the distribution of drug within the brew can be patchy (some people drinking from the same brew will experience no affect whilst other will be away with the machine faeries). You're better off ignoring the brew, and sticking to the seed capsules.

My take: 1) Legalise it. Slash the state RRP, which would blow the black market out of the water (as in Uruguay- $1 per gram - still a huge profit margin as an easy-to-grow crop); 2) Criminalise the unlicenced selling of it; 3) Legalise home-growing for personal use (no selling). As it stands now, we are putting our kids and future generations in danger, due to the places they have to go and the people they have to deal with, in order to buy some. Legal or not, kids are going to try it (rites of passage and all that), so I'd feel better about the kids' safety if they didn't have to visit such places.

I think everyone simply has to watch DMT: Spirit molecule on youtube or Netflix least once in their lives. Normally you get hippies and such banging about a drug, or so called drug, but in this documentary its all Scientists backing things up. People look for the answer in churches, temples, alcohol and hard drugs but the answer is there....Follow the shaman.
