There's a good analysis video in that article too on the ManU game..

Yes, I missed that first time round. As you say, a very good analysis and the guy's quite funny as well.

For what it's worth, The Mail has all four Palace players making the final squad with Wharton squeaking in as the 26th player
Who knows, if England win, they might all end up with an MBE

It occurred to me today, has a team who’s main goal keeper was destined for the squad/tournament only to be kept out by injury to then have his understudy be picked in his place for the national team. It has been a bit of a fairy tale ending to this season for all involved at Palace but that is quite a feat for the keepers.

It’s possible to say that Hebdo’s turn around has been almost as amazing as JPMs. That throw out at the weekend to get an attack under way was superb.

I never rated him but there is now a real choice to be made when SJ is fit again. The £20 million or whatever it was doesn’t look quite so silly now.

Very good post.

To that I say: "OBE" (Oh Bloody 'Ell)!

Palace since 19 August 1972. Palace 1 (Tony Taylor) Liverpool 1 (Emlyn Hughes)

Same. Its nice to see some of hte movement/patterns broken down. I especially liked when Olise got to feet, pulled 2 defenders with him, popped it back to Wharton who played it first time into JPM.

Feels so simple, and I suspect they practice these little interplays a lot.

Let's just hope that should we hang on to those 4, they come back even better players and not crocked.

I have now sufficient funds to last me the rest of my life. Provided I don't buy anything.

Guehi and Eze start tonight

Hopefully Adam will get a chance to come on given the odd central midfield partnership of Conor Gallagher and Alexander-Arnold

Half an hour gone. Ebs has made a couple of his trademark runs earning favourable noises from the commentator and Guehi has been booked.

Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled.

Turgid England again. Only player with some bite is Ebs. What does Southgate coaching add to these players?

unsurprisingly the odd combination in centre midfield are entirely and completely ineffective

anytime Palmer or Eze get on the ball it looks promising but those are rare moments, England don't have the midfield to give them the ball often enough

Obviously an experimental side, so why the hell is Pickford in goal again?

I was just explaining to the mrs that it’s a friendly so there’s no intensity and no aggression, just as Guehi goes flying in and gets booked

Maybe Southgate needs to unleash his secret weapon - Wharton.
