This maybe a little controversial but.....

we now know that Glasner was sorted to take over last summer. During that summer there was the Olise links to Chelsea.

I suspect that we actually planned for Olise's departure then. Glasner plays with the wingers very narrow, yet Olise is actually best further out wide with his excellent crossing or cutting inside from the right wing.

At the time we all felt that it was a little odd that we replaced Zaha a wide man with Franca who is much more central like Eze. But, I think, that Franca was bought in with Olise's departure in mind, giving Franca a year to get settled in preparation for Glasner taking over this summer. Of course not as good but a partnership of Franca/Eze is more natural in the narrower positions than an Olise/Eze partnership.
