If Mateta keeps on like this, ww won't keep him. He was dynamite today.

Olise is one class act.
All our players did very well today considering.

Yep cant argue with you there , a respectable score seen as we were playing one of if not the best team in Europe, lets face it their bench prob cost more than our first team . A bit of hope crept in when we scored first but that was soon drained, we have to be more lethal when we get goal scoring chances .

It was a good first half performance, but I think we all knew it would be difficult to keep those energy levels up in the second half.
Takeaways -
1) Munoz, Lerma, Wharton and Mateta did well
2)Olise created two good chances in the short time he was on
3)Confirmation that DeBruyne is world class
4) More evidence that the role/system does not suit Eze
5) A promising cameo from Ahamada. I think a loan spell with a good Championship team would benefit him if he's not going to get many chances with us so he at least can gain some experience.

We conceded a sloppy goal early second half which allowed City to control the game.

We did alright, but de Bruyne was too good for us, as one would expect.

Nice to see Olise back. Hope he stays fit. Eze was useless. He seems to be struggling right now.

Yup!

Apart from the result, there where more positives than negatives today.

I'm certain that we are safe this season and am certain(ish) that OG has certain transfer expectations hardwired into contract.

The next transfer window will truly define whether or not we are going to grow or not. Unfortunately there's a high chance that we might lose Olise, Eze, Guehi and others. I'm hoping that OG has factored that in to his planning.

If we don't spend this time, then we will remain in this limbo.
One more 'squeaky bum' season then I'm gonna get piles.

spirited performance with lots of promise, the sooner lerma replaces Hughes the better, and the Ahamada run to set up our second was great - he was bought in to carry the ball and did so brilliantly, an under-used resource is our Nairhou.

That was Schlupp who set up the second . Looks as fit as he has all season which is maybe why he looked like Ahamada

Some pluses today and it went a lot better than I feared.

Henderson looks a good keeper again. Some great saves and not at fault for any of the goals. Lerma is certainly versatile and passable in a back 3. Munoz largely did well against Grealish and was very positive coming forward.

I keep forgetting Wharton is only 19! Great pass for JP's goal and generally very tidy. He is only going to get better as well. Ayew seems to have got over the draining international break. Mateta looks like (a slightly knackered most of the time) proper centre forward and took his goal well. Olise looked sharp and keen to get involved again.

I think that Glasner is capable of making us a much better team given the investment needed. We probably just need to get another 4 or 5 points and we can start looking forward to next season.

I've certainly felt a lot worse after a 4-2 home defeat.

Munoz was an embarrassment. Swapping shirts on the pitch before half time makes us look like a joke.

Pretty good summary, tho i would say that IF, the older/slower & out of contract players are going to gone next season, Ahamada would be on the bench at least, same way Schlupp used to be, impact sub sort of thing.

Today was a free swing. Missing 4 players who would be starters- and every player who has scored or set something up today is world class and would get in any side.

Since Olise didn't last 10 minutees against Brighton, that would, as they say, be a very small world

Is JP suspended for the scousers? I think it was his fifth yellow.

Short answer . . . NO.

You have to get to 10 cautions now before a 2 match ban kicks in.

EDIT: that was his 4th equal with Mitchell & Ward.
