Let’s hope this looks good and does unite the fans in the holmesdale! Clearly our support has been a little fractured this season. For my pennies worth ( and I’m 45) I like the “home support” the HF give they’ve clearly improved the atmosphere at Selhurst park in the last decade. Also generally when I meet the HF boys they’re always nice blokes and I think they have their hearts in the right place. Parish should never have let them move blocks, it’s also made them less visible and actually not as loud there either so a needless move all round that’s actually divided not United fans as planned!

They’ve also been a little disingenuous ( or you could say “muggy”) with this flag fundraiser. They don’t speak for the palace fans and really who gives a monkeys about their flag that can actually be seen on the frame in front of them currently in the stand anyway so everyone knows who they are! Once again a decision that has divided not United fans as the flags were meant to do! My other gripe is they rarely travel away so again I’ve been seeing blokes and ladies all over the country for the last 30 years that for me really represent palace and they may not sing or jump about b it they’re as much the life blood of the club as the HF and so I think they need to remember fans show their passion in different ways like driving to Grimsby on a Tuesday night!

All this being said I think this flag idea is a great idea, I love the displays, some of the songs and the Maxi Jazz Tshirts merch. I even quite like the odd flare to be honest always looks pretty cool as long as they aren’t hurting anyone with them!

Anyway let’s all get together however you want to support the palace! Cos I tell you one thing this could be the best palace team for quite some time so we all have no excuses to get right behind them and Glasner and show our United support and love for the palace tomorrow and next season!

Up the palace…

Good post .I agree they shouldn't have moved from the corner as lost some atmosphere and i think less visible. Also they bring something to the club but understand there not everyones cup of tea .But we are all Palace long may this progression go on .Hopefully the new stand will help the atmosphere as well.

Would that not be fair ?

The advertising is quite simply annoying. Who is going to look at it and think Oooo I must ring them on Monday! Absolutely no-one. We are watching a football match, its as bad as the ads that pop up when you are on a website trying to buy something. Look at me, look at me!!!!

That's the point. Do you look at the hf's banner & go, ooo I must join? Advertising brings in revenue to the club, something SP is pretty good at, the hf, bring next to nothing in revenue to the club, only themselves by way of 'gofundme'. Next time they will fail.

This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise.

Except helping develop the now famous Selhurst Park atmosphere, which acts as a magnet for new fans.

The space is there to be sold / rented to the highest bidder - if your a company trying to get the name out there or to reinforce your market presence by having flashing signs at a PL football match its your decision - the stadium is full so at least 25,000 will see it, the game will be recorded / televised so if anyone watches Match of the day or the highlights on you tube or palace TV they will see it- if anything outstanding happens in the game it will get even more coverage, etc etc etc -

Somewhere in between all this the lines between advertising revenue & sponsorship revenue get a bit blurred, some people will use the service advertised on the basis that they associate it with their beloved football club-

One signage that to me personally that I dont think belongs in the stadium is that big blue Asian gambling site message - to me thats not something we should be associated with, but its not my decision so ......., hopefully next season we will have an advertising partner that isnt a gambling site....

Lets see how it unfolds.

The ban on gambling companies advertising is coming in soon (that's why we've now got Cinch) but not sure if just for shirt sponsorship. But it may be a total ban like alcahol.

Hopefully so- the whole gambling thing isn't a wonderful message to be sending especially to youngsters coming through - we rightfully bang on about being a community club & the good work that goes on in the surrounding area, you would think that out there somewhere is a relatively local product or service that is more consistent with those values, even if it doesn't pay quite as much as the gambling people.

The flags looked so good yesterday and it was good to see them being used before and throughout the match in both tiers. Atmosphere was rocking long may this continue into next season if anyone has any good photos would be great to see. Slightly concerned people took them home lots of donated money lost in flags yesterday and don’t know why people took them home seems a bit selfish and senseless but anyways hopefully we have a good summer

I think that's what the idea was, that you took them home and then brought them to the next game.

The trouble with computers, of course, is that they're very sophisticated idiots

Well, if so, it wasn’t universally known. The Steward in Upper Tier blocks Pand Q was confiscating them as people were trying to take them out

Brilliant atmosphere all round yesterday, obviously it helps the way we’ve been playing, but it was the best for a very long time. Villa fans were excellent as well, especially as their team was taking a good hiding. They even joined in when Eze scored and freed from desire was played, the whole ground doing it was brilliant
