Parish went on at the start of the season about how having two strong keepers would create competition for the goalkeeping role. Which would be great for both keepers. Pushing to fill the position.

I honestly don’t understand what competition there is if you keep the guy in that can’t catch, over and over.

Henderson only made it into the side when Johnstone was injured.

If they are thinking of selling SJ in the summer, then hiding him away won’t increase his value.

I can’t see any possible reason why he isn’t playing, when the alternative, Henderson, is not showing that he is competing to be playing week in week out.

Henderson is Hennesey mk.2
Johnstone must be played.

Dementia? And not the players.

No idea why Roy H. is so stubborn when it comes to pick a goalie. Henderson lets in goals left and right, Johnstone been our best player in several games.

Makes you wonder if it’s pressure from above because of the price tag and them wanting to sell Johnstone in the summer

But if they want a decent price for him, surely they have to put him in the shop window?

I guess the jury is out in terms of who will be the better keeper long-term but in terms of recent performances Henderson has looked a long way from being a £20 million player- glued to his line most of the time so useless at set pieces, too slow coming off his line for 1:1s and not great with distribution when he has the ball. Apart from that he’s fine!

I wonder who Dean Kiely thinks is the best keeper. In his interview on the CPFC website a few years back he said “There needs to be healthy competition. Whoever’s playing in the team needs to look in the rear-view mirror and see two other very competent goalies working extremely hard to try and get in the team”. Doesn’t feel like Henderson is under pressure!

But then will recklessly comes to to the centre circle when we are attacking. All it would take is a cheeky chip, from any of the opposition. It smacks of immaturity to me and will catch him out in a seriously embarrassing way soon, if enough people clock him doing it.

Henderson hasn't been convincing and hasn't got us out of jail much over the last few weeks but I don't think it would have made much difference to results. You could argue he gained us a point at City . .
Johnstone appears to have a bit more presence but didn't cover himself in glory against Bournemouth or Luton which has been a pivotal moment in our season.

The way football is played now, the light football, the way the ball is delivered and height of outfield players means that the GK that commands his area is a bit of a myth IMO.

Johnstone - all day long for me..!!

Ever since Henderson came in our defence has looked uncharastically edgy - can’t be coincidental..!!

I'm baffled. They may be roughly comparable, but it's odd that no one among us is arguing that Henderson is superior. My only theories are that Roy is following orders from those who intend to sell Johnstone, or that Johnstone is slightly injured and we want to hide it from potential suitors.

I would love to hear what the defenders' impressions are, for to most of us the defenders have looked more confident, organized, and disciplined with Johnstone than with Henderson.

The defence has a bit to answer for themselves given the first minute goals conceded against Brentford and Sheffield United that have been 100% on them.
