If Josh Harris went out and purchased Kylian Mbappe for Palace Hodgson would refuse to play him until he has learned how to defend.

There’s clearly a problem - what that problem is - is open to conjecture - but all very frustrating..!! COYP
Unanimous (Parish, Harris, Textor) agreement on player And with majority owner Textor eager (to say the least) for greater control, we are left with a decision making stasis.

When it comes to matters on the pitch and training the buck stops with Roy. One of the reasons Parish is not spending huge amounts of money on players for him is his frequent refusals to play them complaining that they are not what he wanted. He took this attitude with Eze dropping him to the bench saying that “he has to learn how to defend”! It’s all very well trying to blame Parish, Freedman, Harris, Blitzer and Texter but if the manager is not up to scratch then all the money in the world is not going to improve the team. Roy was in charge of Liverpool and the England Football Team and failed miserably. We are now playing at the level of a relegation team (9 points out of 45) and unless he improves his performance he won’t last till the end of the season. Sorry Roy's record says otherwise, he selections are limited by the quality available. If the youngsters were that good, why are other EPL not chasing for their signatures. sorry but Parish is the problem at this club, his time is up, he is holding us back ably demonstrated by his estranged relationships with the other investors and that will hold us back as no successor to Roy who has a reputation will want to put it on the line under the current circumstances.

I largely agree with your opening sentence, but after that not so much. You do not know anything about Parish's spending - unless of course you have inside info ? I suspect you are confusing your assumptions with fact. Now consider these because they are facts ; Parish re-appointed Hodgson. He also endorsed the £17m spend on Franca. In other words half of the transfer budget gone on an unproven teenager to work under a manager that prefers working with experienced players. Convince me that there is anyone responsible for that situation other than Steve Parish. And harping on about Hodgson's time with Liverpool and England is hardly relevant when it's proven that he is best suited to smaller outfits such as Fulham and West Brom. Oh and Palace.

This article seems to throw some light on Parish and his relationship with fellow directors even though its one year old there is a problem and with the other Americans wanting out it really is a sticking point going forward and may eventually get us relegated (hope not!)

I suspect Textor was responsible for Franca Roy Hodgson quoted in October last year ; Doug Freedman spent quite a lot of time in Brazil, watching Matheus Franca play for Flamengo. He had his opinions about it, which we took on board. That’s the only opinion I’m really interested in. He told Steve Parish, the man that bought him, that he has all the skillsets necessary to become a good player in the English Premier League.

There is quite a pointed part of this in the middle "that's the only opinion I'm interested in". Presumably that's because this was driven by Textor. There are several articles stating that.

Got to wonder if this was a "Textor tactic" getting Palace to sign him (with the lure of the Premiership) with the intention of them having us loan him out to Lyon or Molenbeek or something. Only thing that makes sense to me in signing someone for that amount of money, who can't walk straight into the first team.
The trouble with computers, of course, is that they're very sophisticated idiots |

In my view Roy does have a negative mindset with regard to team setup regardless of which team we are playing. Originally posted by Brasilian Eagle

I was more thinking his tactic was to invest money but only on players he wants. It's understandable in some ways but obviously undermines the structure of the club. I can't say for sure what goes on however. Who can? Except Steve.
