I fear we could be in the relegation battle this season. I can see it now. We finish 4th bottom then Everton , 2 points below us, have their sentence reduced by half and survive at our expense.

Short of one moment of brilliance by Olise, another utterly embarrassing performance. 4 losses in the last 5 and the way we defended (especially in the last 2) we deserve it, no excuses.

I make that 1 win in 6 and 2 in 9. Two theoretically winnable games ahead before a nightmare run. We're sleepwalking into a relegation battle where, really, it's only how few points the teams at the bottom are picking up (until today) that has given us a cushion.

Roy under zero pressure it seems and the owners somehow getting away with our entire summer budget going on a reserve goalkeeper and a teenager who seemingly won't play for us this season, when there are gaping holes in our squad that basically all of us could see in the summer.

Ho hum.

We were somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the drugs began to take hold...

How poor!!
Mateta is not good enough Roy needs to go we are so poor if it wasn’t for our 2 centre backs and goalkeeper we would be bottom.
Eze and olise won’t stick around

Liverpool (H), Man City , Br*ghton (H).

No points for a month then.

Conceding 5 goals to Everton and Luton is embarrassing.

But we won't even think about sacking him.

It's got truly boring now.

Yep, four defeats from the last five games and some abject performances too.

Now we have injuries to Eze and Doucoure, both of which do not look good. Edouard and Mateta still struggling up front and full backs both of which need replacing.

Taught a lesson by a team that were hungry and wanted it more.

Roy is not cutting it.

I await the manager's verdict - if he says anything except 'the best team won' he should resign and hand over to Paddy in the interim.

I am aghast - surely a manager of his calibre should have done much better with the talent available.

Tough games ahead and lack of a right back and striker will haunt us.

No words really.. Its all very familiar from when Roy was last in charge. Imagine playing in that team and looking to the bench for some inspiration and a weathered, down trodden looking 76 year old elderly male is staring back at you... Thing is I don't blame Roy.. I blame our board.

We are a poor side that happens to have 3 or 4 very talented individuals in it. What's even more concerning is that this will definitely be Eze and Guehi last season with us and you can guarantee we won't replace them.

I said it the other week we will finish between 17th and 13th but our board and some on here will be more than happy with that.

Don't waste your time with jealousy. Sometimes your ahead, sometimes your behind, the race is long. But in the end it's only with yourself!!

Aside from Barkley, Luton looked barely better than league one quality and yet somehow we lost. What's the point in spending all week on shape if your forwards seemingly have no plan? Welcome back Old Roy. I know Eze went off, but that was our best starting line-up in the first half and we were pretty rubbish. It's as if Roy expects the attack to take care of itself, which may explain a lot. Second half we were awful. No excuses. Yes Luton were rough, but so would we be if we had sh*t players. Even if we'd taken our chances I still would have said we were rubbish. Luton deserved their win despite not creating many chances. They showed underdog spirit.

No point getting rid of Roy unless there's someone lined up, but after a great cameo last season he's somehow sucking the life out of us again. With the team returning to strength there's no excuse for performances like that and especially not against Luton. Also, why the f**k is he not playing Franca? Maybe he isn't ready, but we spent £20m on him and he's not even been given a chance in the PL and it's not as if the other players are doing enough.

The one positive is Olise is back.
