It really is very simple. Isn't that in of itself subjective and purely ideological. As I stated for most of our history there has been libel and threats to violence. In my view we now have bad laws and poor practice. I have never agreed with this thinking and view it as a high negative that our elites decided to vastly restrict freedom of speech.....free speech isn't about protecting the speech you like....unless it's lying or physically threatening you then there should be proportion in reactions. If a wally shouts something out it is annoying but I am more suspicious of the witch hunters than I am of witches. Edited by Stirlingsays (06 Sep 2023 1.15pm)

It's all unpleasant but this incident stays in the mind because not that long ago the second word would have been the problematic one.

Yep, there are a lot of idiots shouting stupid stuff at football matches. It's a tribal game and one of high emotion and people lose control sometimes. I don't like it personally but I understand it and don't over react (there are paid industries created to encourage that over-reaction) I'm not someone who supports officially imposed tone policing....there is something distinctly anti working class being forced onto the game. I don't like prawn sandwiches and this is a working class game, which the middle class now think they own.

It really is very simple. Only to a simple mind. You would only know how serious an insult is if you are the victim. You are the only one who can judge it. All else is just virtue signalling or tribal solidarity. If this was simply about some football yobbo acting like they generally do, then I'd happily throw him out of the ground and say no more. Unfortunately, there is more going on in our society than just prosecuting people for anti social behaviour. This kind of over reaction is a symptom of our way of life being slowly strangled to make way for the new order. The control of language, the restrictions of freedom, and the protection of certain groups along with the steady subjugation of the majority. If you don't believe this, then I wish you luck. Edited by Hrolf The Ganger (06 Sep 2023 2.30pm) Now this is oversimplification ‘You would only know how serious an insult is if you are the victim. You are the only one who can judge it.’ And, more importantly, completely false.
Did you know? 98.0000001% of people are morons. |

Are you more offended by insults made toward you or insults made to other people and what defines your boundaries of being offended? Is it just race or do you have an ever increasing list of matters to become offended about?

Much like there will have been for this incident, especially as whatever has been said would have been shouted loud enough for a player on pitch to hear. So by the sounds of it, whichever way it lands, the truth will out. That's what amazed us there were and they all said it didn't happen the way he said but they believed him even though the other two stewards there would not back him. The persistent standing was during half time and he pushed my mate in the back when he was leaning on the barrier. Which when they checked was seen on cctv. That could have been nasty as he could have fallen forward and bashed his head. We were chatting to the people behind us as we always do. It took forever for them to say why we were being ejected that's when they mentioned racist abuse and was when I mentioned the lie detector test and he crapped himself. We did take them to task and got compensation, which we gave to the food bank.

You could call me a honkey and I wouldn't be the least bothered. Why would you feel the need to be bothered on someone else's behalf unless it was about ideology or tribalism?
