Take Zaha as an example. He was apparently getting around 100k a week. That's around £5m a season. What are we going to do with that sort of money that will change our world? Him leaving doesn't add up to a big sum of money we can spend on transfers, that's for sure.

Let's guess that Butland was on 40k a week, Milo £60k, Mac £50k. That's less than £8m a year we've saved by losing those players. We've just given a contract to Lerma, and a new one to Olise, so the bulk of those savings are already gone. Even if we hadn't, again, the sums involved are not going to give us a war chest to storm the transfer market with.

Yeah but the way a clubs wage bill is budgeted incorporates the transfer fee and wages over the length of a contract, so zaha off the books is 20 mill for franca plus his wages over 5 years and milos wages cover lerma, we must have more than 0 in our transfer budget this year.

Guehi, andersen, docoure, eze, olise, sell 2 of them next summer and the club is guaranteed atleast 100 mill, we are really not in as bad of a financial position than some fans make out.
