The club should be ashamed of themselves, they are sacrificing his development by paying him sit-down money so he can polish his rump
in order to make up the numbers on the bench, he is woefully out of his depth when allowed in to the game for a couple of minutes. The lad is clearly a long way from being anywhere near EPL standard and should be out on loan in the championship earning his spurs. Exposing him to the EPL when he is not ready will destroy his confidence and in all probability ruin him. I know many on here think is the messiah and the answer to all our problems but in reality nothing could be further from the truth.

I don't know anybody on here who thinks that, there's a fair few who watch Academy games & form an opinion on what we all see. So your point in red is mute.

And he hasn’t been impressive in any of his appearances across the board, since coming back from Charlton, in so much as his performances haven’t suggested he was up to EPL, and last nights performance would back that up. I have watched him for a few years now, and have a lot of time for him, but he isn’t ready yet. Time might tell, I hope so.

Like many others Ive seen him for our U23’s and in friendlies this season, plus first team minutes that he’s also played.

Last season I saw him play for the clowns a few times, one such game was their midweek away fixture at MK Dons. He poor / non-descript that evening too.

The gulf between the Premier League and Division One is huge. That is more his level and I’ve seen nothing to suggest he’d be any good even in the Championship.

1) He's young.
2) For the next few months, even if he sees little match time, he's competing daily with Prem League players (against some good defenders) in training.
3) Five-six months of daily training sessions with the first team should give management a good sense of the best path for his development, short and long term. This could be invaluable for Palace, determining how much more to invest in him, and for him to learn what constitutes Prem level effort, attitude and skill.

I agree.

At the end of the day Rak-Sakyi is either going to make the club money or eventually play for us regularly. In truth people should be more positive.

For me it’s a confidence thing..it’ll come and I think Roy will stand by him...it’s was interesting to hear Jordan Ayew fully supporting him...I remember his first season wasn’t great at all , now he’s a starter....

The management and players will know how good JRS is from the training sessions. AWB was able to make his way into the first team based on what he did in training playing against Wilf. I am sure if JRS starts skinning Mitchell and Guehi in training he would not be keeping the bench warm.

What did do you think of his performance yesterday? I haven't seen much of him TBH as I don't watch u23 games but there is definitely a good player in there. A few errors but overall a positive contribution to the game.

I thought he had a good game against NF he needs confidence and could do with a few extra pounds but he is still only 20 . He will welcome those minutes played in the Premier League . Will he make it, his chances are better than most of the academy boys but the odds of making to the first team and being a regular starter are very slim only three players have done it in the last 13 years Zaha , Michell and Bissaka. I wish him well.
