Hardly a sign that the board don't know what they are doing. In regards to "robbing the Manager" and "happening every year", that's clearly not the case. Half our squad are wanted by top clubs, that would hardly be the case if our recruitment was poor. Of course there have been times when there has not been a lot going on from a fans point of view but the fans rarely know what goes on behind closed doors. Lastly, please name all theses top players that have left on a free. You can go back to the start of CPFC2010 if you like. I guess for you it's a glass half empty type thing. We will just have to agree to disagree..

That’s worth about 100 million a season plus. How much were we being offered for Wilf by spurs back in the day? Not much. How much would the Turks have paid had he had time on his contract? Not much. We reportedly offered him a ridiculously generous contract for his age and the fact he’s beginning to get regular soft tissue injuries. The chairman did fantastic business securing Wilf and getting the best years of him for palace, you cannot use that against him it’s ridiculous.

So if the clause is still in place which now looks factual and the player has had his head turned by Chelsea, surely best to let him go for their reported £39m offer and move on.

£39m in this current climate is a bargain for Olise. Really hope Woosnam is incorrect and Darren Ambrose's source knows his stuff! Edited by madcap_v2 (03 Aug 2023 12.15pm)

Your post contradicts itself, first you say there is a clause(£35m quoted), secondly Chelsea will pay £39m, So, which is it?

Can only hope his injury is the saving grace. May get us to the summer. Looks inevitable that he’s gone though. Zaha and Olise potentially gone - thats alot of goals and assists out the team. If he goes this season is huge. Survival 101 again
