People have a bad perception of Roy, for the way we HAD to play in certain games in his last tenure,
But know this , we did not have the players we had now especially the back 4 who needed more protection , we can now play with flare , I’m excited ,
Top 10 next season , at least, guaranteed

If he does stay on I really hope you're right. My memory of his last tenure was that by the end we were playing defensively even at home against weaker opposition. I remember Andros thriving when he first signed for Everton and him putting that down to the fact he didn't have to defend all the time like he'd had to do at Palace.

I am confident Roy would steer us clear of relegation, I'm not so confident we'd do it playing the way we have been of late. Having said that, if he wants the job it's hard to see Parish looking elsewhere because he'll be under pressure to protect the investors interests and pretty much anyone else is a risk.

Maybe if Andros had done more defending at Everton they wouldn’t have been in the mess they were in last season. He was a grea servant for us though so it is a shame that injury ruled him out this season.

"After more than 45 years of coaching I have decided that the time is right for me to step away from the rigours of top-flight Premier League football.

“I feel now that at the end of another successful season, in which we have secured our Premier League status, the moment is right for me to step down from my responsibilities of being a full-time manager.

“I have had so much support from my wife and family throughout my career and I have been contemplating this decision for some time, and now I believe the time is right to consider them and to see what the future holds for me.”

Again you are wrong. RH told Palace in the March that he would not be staying. Giving Palace ample time to find a replacement. Maybe after a break he decided he was not ready for retirement and so it proved, he went to Watford.
If you choose not to watch, that is your perogative, at least we won’t be hearing your weekly Wilf whinge ( if he stays)

what are you going on about re read it and remove your head from SP a**e.

hurts you does it because you love wilf so much and he wont even be at the club next year unless no one else will touch him which may be the case.

for what retiring if so i never claimed he was retiring it was others that said he claimed to retire form top flight football.

which is wrong he took watford job and has come out saying it again to media a few times after he returned but because palace site has some words those must be true.

Maybe he will stay. Maybe he won't.

One thing I would like to know is... do we EVER plan for ANYTHING?

Vieira was apparently almost sacked in February 2022. And yet, it seems to be a surprise that he's gone, 15 months later.

If Vieira had done well, at some point there was a good chance he'd have left. If he'd done badly, at some point there was a good chance he'd have left.

It seems that whenever we lose a manager, we start the process from step 1.

I think we must give Parish some respect. You don't stay in the PL for a decade if there aren't some management skills knocking around!

Absolutely this! Parish may have made some mistakes but has rectified very quickly and we have never really been in danger or a serious relegation scrap since we’ve been promoted

Yep. Parish doubters should have a look at Gary Neville's interview with him on the 'Overlap Interview' thread where he gives a good account of himself.

Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled.

Yep.

the club is moving in a positive direction, and ultimately that is down to him. He's not going to get evry decision right, but he's getting most of them

100% agree, a very good watch, and realistic but capable goals, first class,
