I just wonder if PV made things too complicated for the players. At the end of the day, as Olise once said…you get the ball…shoot….and score. I can’t remember which game it was, but remember Ward giving PV dagger looks as if to say, what the hell are you talking about!

Sometimes, just simple instructions can be very effective. Perhaps that’s why all the team look so much happier.

Well done the 2Rs….Roy & Ray

You might be right. I think he definitely made it too slow. We're that little bit more direct.

Also, players play in positions where they're actually good.

The centre forward role is still debatable. But the 3 behind is a no brainer. Zaha, Eze and Olise. Ayew has been great as a left sided attacker in Zaha's absence. He's a goal threat on his right foot cutting in. He can pick a through ball (again, that decisive pass is coming quicker) and he's always held the ball well, and has great close control. He's clearly not a central midfielder. I don't know if I'm just having some kind of feverish recollection, but 2 months ago Olise and Ayew seemed to be some kind of central midfield/winger hybrid that was just bull s***. Olise has clarity that he just plays where he clearly enjoys playing. Eze is one of the most Jeckyl/Hyde players I've ever seen in regards to being either anonymous or a match winner, but he's also now playing where he is enjoying himself. Obviously everyone looks like they enjoy scoring (apart from maybe Olise and Benteke), but he genuinely seems relaxed and at peace. When he turns up.

I feel a bit for Sambi Lokonga, but the central midfield looks half decent now there's balance elsewhere. The square pegs are in the square holes and they're moving the ball with more purpose.

we do have good players, but as a group they're not world beaters. I do wonder is Vieira was trying to get them to play a game too complex that ended up just having a confused understanding and clearly zero penetration. Now they just do what they're good at. And they're good at what they're good at.

Roy establishes the extent of complexity required to maximise potential. We don't have Man City standard players. Ayew's on something like £28,000 a week. Grealish is literally on over ten times that, and it's taken him 15 months to settle into their hyper-complex 'inverted this and that' bollocks, despite having an enormous coaching staff. We had Pat and Osian, and some other guy that was later reported to be sub-standard for this level and basically demoted. Unless the strategy was quite simple, the message was unlikely to ever get across effectively.

The thing is Wilf could already have signed a pre-contract to go somewhere, which he is entitled to do, now we are safe i wonder if we have seen Wilfs last game

Sambi Lakonga isn't ours. Save your tears for Ahamada who is.

I expect Wilf to get at least an outing in last home game so he and the fans can say their goodbyes to each other. After all he's done in entertaining us over the years, that's the least he should get IMO.

Agreed. If that’s what happens. Plus by then we will be well safe.
In the meantime keep this team in place. It’s working.

This is getting into the surreal stage now - I’m living the dream - but it’s reality..!!

A few weeks ago we couldn’t get a shot on target, let alone a goal - and a win seemed a whimsical/fanciful dream..!!

Now 3 wins and on the spin, Premiership status all but secured - we are Palace we never do things this easy or should that be “Eze”..!!

Just keep looking at the table in disbelief - whilst laughing hysterically…!!
