We can blame Vieira all we want, but while Brighton put young promising South Americans as subs, we put a striker who despite his height never wins headers and misses sitters, a right winger who is not good enough for Premier League anymore and an 18 year old who needs time to adapt. Not strengthening properly (other than buying Doucoure) in the last two transfer windows starts to show up and as much as I like to criticise Vieira, he does not have enough depth to succeed. I do not see the point of upgrading the main stand if the team will be playing in championship and not strengthening the squad is what put us in the relegation fight.

Blame PV if you wish but the real fault is with Parish and Freedman they do the recruiting between them and frankly they go for any player that they can get for the cheapest price or any loan player. PV has made it clear like others before him what he wants but gets what he is given. The whole balance of the team is all wrong we have too many individuals and lack team players. Sorry to say but we have had it, if we can't score!

Too many prima donnas in this team not another fight. Derry was right to give this lot a rev up, and got the boot for his troubles, too well paid not enough spirit. We will go down with this lot playing for us. Period!

It's not the size of the dog in the fight, but the size of the fight in the dog.

Does anyone know what's gone wrong with Decoure? He started the season well, but gone downhill , a bit like the team?

I agree with a lot of that however I don't think you can absolve Vieira.

There has not been adequate investment in the team and in trying to rebuild it they have taken too many punts IMHO including stopping investment.

PV came into a team that was still well drilled and had identity under Roy, had a lot of investment, had Gallagher for the energy but it is now more than ever looking to me as though we were just riding a bit of a wave. I think he is being exposed in his capability, or lack of, as a coach.

We need someone new in who has a genuine style and game plan, can whip players into shape and get a tune out of them. PV cannot do any of those for me.

I keep saying it but I'll be absolutely shocked if he is not sacked either now or after we lose to Arsenal. There just isn't any evidence to support keeping him in. Both results and performances are absolutely dreadful. Players look as though they have given up the ghost too.

I said it a while ago but again PV will go and when he does it may be a case of 'why did we wait so long?'.

I think Parish took a gamble that the team wouldn't go down, would stay in the PL and recruit in the summer when prices are better? But it's turning pear shaped pretty pdq

The team is clueless, and the manager is clueless.

We played well for 15 minutes.

It's hard to imagine us beating anyone when our forward play is so inept.

1) we started off really well and should have been 2 up, but when Brighton went ahead we didn't really trouble them afterwards
2) it's not sustainable for Anderson and Guehi to be our only consistent performers
3) you can't rely on Olise, Eze and Edouard with their casual play. If I was Vieira I would be inclined to bench them, and prefer triers like Ayew.
4) Doucoure is too rash in the tackle sliding in and running the risk of 2 yellows every game. Not good enough and can't be relied on.
5) if we can't score goals, we can't win games and will be relegated

Another narrow loss against a top 10 team having had opportunities to score. The team has put players in the position to score but those with the chances have failed to take them. Our key to survival is taking the chances and after Arsenal the way we are playing we should be able to create more opportunities to score. If we take them we survive if we don’t we go down. It is up to the players to achieve survival if they fail it will be down to the players.COYP

We have too many wishy washy indulgent players who on their day may look easy on the eye but lack that day to day tenacity, passion and grit that wins vital points when things get tough. Why is Freedman not signing more of those players? When he does sign one Hughes, Vieira doesn’t play him. Maybe Vieira thinks he’s not laid back enough!!!

I’m not sure Vieira or Osian Roberts have true fighting management qualities and if they do, they are yet to be awakened. Would I go into battle for either? Naaah or very reluctantly.

Parish needs to read the riot act to them both. They need to wise up, get scared, show some urgency and passion or leave.

Yep.

They thought this season would be an easy sail through. Wrong.
