We can't keep a clean sheet and don't look like scoring.

This is so frustrating. The race to the bottom. What is the point of finishing 16th or 17th if there is no reinvestment in the club by ownership as a result of staying up. I'd quite frankly rather drop and play youth, slash payroll at a lower level. Someone said it best, we have been fighting above our weight for so long, it's time to drop back in to the proper class and enjoy some games. I'm envious of Brentford and Fulham. A striker who can hold up play, distribute, score penalties and score in the run of play. Best we can do is hope for a shot on goal. Sigh.
15th is lowest we have finished in Prem under Pardew. Have you not been following Palace long PV has had over 100m. How stupid can you be to suggest dropping into Championship is a good thing. We have had shots on goal in this game.

To my mind this is symptomatic to what we all knew - we didn't recruit effectively in the summer - we all knew we needed another right back, midfielder (replacement for Gallagher) and a forward as a minimum..!! We had a chance to limp by with the truncated autumn period - punctuated by the World Cup. But come the January transfer window we needed to be in early and finish the recruitment - we haven't, so now we are seeing the results of that inertia. Don't think it's fair to blame PV - he can see it as clearly as we can - you can tell that from his responses to interviews. Blame lies with the Board/Investors - quite clearly Harris and Blitzer have no interest in investing further - which is bizarre surely as investors you would want to protect your investment. Textor - I'm just not sure someone likened him to the "Emperor with new clothes" - which I think is fair enough analogy - just don't think there is any substance there..!! One thing for sure if we don't get some new recruits and quality ones at that in the positions I have mentioned the relegation trapdoor could be looming large and that would be such a shame as I honestly believe we are just a few quality recruits from being a decent side. Lets see what happens..!! Meantime let's hope the mighty Palace prove me wring in the remaining minutes..!! As always COYP..!!

I wish I could understand wtf is going on at Selhurst. We all know we need new signings but what’s the point when PV doesn’t play most of the later signings, ie, Edouard, Mateta, Hughes, Richards, Johnstone.

What's so difficult for fans is the silence from CPFC. We have no idea what they feel about the increasing crisis arising from our dire results. PV keeps telling us and them that he needs new players, but we don't know what the owners think and whether there are any real moves to secure the players we need. Meanwhile there is intensive activity from most other clubs. Are Palace actually looking for players? And only as loans? THe name of Conor Gallagher keeps being floated but he's too good a player for Chelsea to let him go. We appear to have staked everything on getting him during the last transfer window, which came to nothing. And we don't actually know if he was our main hope, or if Palace made a late bid for him when others fell through. It's so frustrating watching the list of losses and zero goals get longer and having no idea what the owners are doing or if they even care.

We have become such a complacent club, sleepwalking/hurtling into the Championship.

We have the 11th highest wage bill in the league and have spent an average of 11.5 mil/per year/over the last five years on squad investment, the only other team still surviving in this league that has spent less is Soton and look where they are. We now have 8 players out of contract this year and succession planning is non-existent at this club. If you not worried that is great, however I do not want to go down but please tell me where the points are going to come from between now and the end of March, because I cannot see many with this current squad and its seems Parish thinks he only needs a loan or two!

What a miserable little club we are now. Completely out of our depth in this league. Squad wise and infrastructure wise we are nowhere near this level.

Thought today’s match was really entertaining. Only problem being is that we lost to an out of form team which in my opinion would have lost to practically every prem team other than us :-( Again our midfield had no balance and even though we had chances they weren’t easily made through our midfield play. A lot of our attacks were long balls out from the back which played into Chelsea’s hands. Silva was outstanding as usual. Eze was poor again but that may be down to him not playing behind a No 9 and he just isn’t a midfielder. Oh well on to Man Utd x 2, Newcastle and an in from Brighton. I’m not hopeful :-( 🔴🔵

Apart from the last 10 minutes of the second half when perhaps Chelsea were just protecting their lead we were very ordinary. Absolutely no penetration in attack with Kepa only having 1 meaningful save to make.Disappointing final ball.Eze totally anonymous yet again.Lack of cohesion in midfield.I counted 2 throw-ins just presented to a Chelsea player.Every ball that was crossed into the box was met with a Chelsea head.Gave away a number of free kicks. We have now not scored in 4 out of our last 5 PL games and I have a sense of foreboding when considering the next few fixtures.
