Imagine having to put 'I was a telly tubby' on your CV. It would be as embarrassing as saying you were Noel Edmond's hair stylist or something.

To be fair Pete Best took a while to get over it too.
They had a drummer before Best whose wife convinced him that his job driving a forklift at Garston Bottle works was a better option than staying with the Beatles. Bet they had some interesting conversations over the years.

Sounds like my old school's career adviser.

I'd imagine, if any truth, that should be the end of that.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

The article states it is just a journalist's opinion on his price, so a bit of a misleading heading really. Having said that, with Villa having Watkins as their only other striking option it seems unlikely they'll let him leave and if they do it will likely require a big offer. Everton are more desperate for a striker so they may pay the ransom required, but I doubt Parish will.

If by some miracle he did come to us I still think it would be a huge signing (if he can stay fit), but I just can't see it.

Villa will not even get close to £20m. Probably half of that is optimistic. He is their player and therefore they can ask what they want but you might as well just say he is not for sale because at that price no one is buying.
I would imagine with not too much time left on his contract and their need to sell in order to keep in line with FFP they might be tempted to offload him this window but in terms of how much it will cost only Villa's board can realistically answer that one

£20m is an insane fee, but on the other hand how much would we expect to receive for Zaha (the same age as Ings, I believe) if he had a year and a half left on his contact?

Palace since 19 August 1972. Palace 1 (Tony Taylor) Liverpool 1 (Emlyn Hughes)

I read yesterday he has flat out rejected Everton. Either a loan or permanent. Players seem to now be treating that club like the plague now we can all see it imploding with a crap manager at the helm.
As for us, Ings has apparently not ruled out joining Palace but his preference is to stay at Villa until the summer and then decide what he wants to do.
This may be true. It may not be. Sounds feasible but who knows.

Another potential signing looking poised to sign for WHU.

I sincerely hope if he does it's a massive failure all round. Nothing personal for Ings, very personal for the Spam.

On to the next delusion for potential incomings.

Ings is well suited to West Ham. He's tended to perform best at smaller clubs throughout his career, so he should fit right in.

Sydenham by birth. Selhurst by the Grace of God.
