News feed suggests Barca have made a big offer.

Could be crud.

Might be true.

I would have thought they would provide a nightmare similar to the one he endured at manure.

Bl00dy big pay-off for his last few seasons, but would it be worth the pain?

I would hope he would see the sense of remaining a big fish in a small pond rather than a bench warming tidler in that behemoth of a mad house.

From a selfish point of view, if he's going anywhere, I'd prefer it was there rather than somewhere here. Out of sight is out of mind.

Seems we are seeing the end of Wilf and yes, please leave for a foreign club. I would hate to see him return and do a "Gallagher!"

Barca are bankrupt and not the team of old. Nobody can make a bid until Jan 1st.

Agree.

And even though they are a bit of a mess, nobody is saying no to Barca

They are top of la Liga at the moment so not too bad, a bid of 15m in Jan will seal the deal if Wilf wants it.

If he were to go:

Spurs: 2nd choice to Son, don't really play with wingers, unlikely to win anything, Levy tight on wages.

Arsenal: 2nd choice to Martinelli, definitely going for a young vibe, albeit if he does we should be at the front of the Smith-Rowe queue if he can get fit.

Chelsea: Don't look like winning anything, can't get the best out of Sterling. Probably make a bid but doesn't look that tempting.

City: Gets nowhere near their team.

Liverpool: Clear issue on the left where they are very Jota dependent. Carvalho needs time. Could see this happening as a stop gap for Liverpool.

United: Won't win anything, plus it just won't happen.

Newcastle: Unlikely to win much anytime soon, furthest from London, Saint-Maximin is there. Possibly the best payday.

Rest of the PL is irrelevant.

Abroad: Would have to be a really big name to tempt him. Wouldn't be surprised if he rocked up at Juventus, Barcelona etc. He'd do well, probably win something, not sure he'd manage more than a couple of years out there.

Yes, but in January Barca, as a foreign club, can, I believe, sign a deal for Wilf for next season - no fee to us, just a matter of Wilf's (and his agent's) signing on fee. If he's going, a pre-contract deal with Barca in January at least tells us where we stand and we can make appropriate plans (whatever they may be) for next summer. I doubt it will be a case of 'replacing Wilf' because he's basically irreplaceable on our budget.

Yes, Barcelona is a perfect team for him, not as hard as the premiership guaranteed 90% starting, and champions league and third at least. even the colors are the same, and 2 hours only to London.

The article I read said WZ had made an offer to Barca, not the other way around, indicating that he / his representative has approached them & said - Wilf will consider coming to Barcelona for ............ + ....... + ...... -

Whether Barca see Wilf as their kind of player is another matter.

Presumably this is the agent publicising his contract status in advance of the January window to see if any of the top European sides are interested -
