Don’t understand the amount of pessimistic output on here.
6 games only beaten by Arsenal , undefeated ,top of league, Man C , giants of Europe, present league Champions. 2-0 flattered Arsenal that was easy to see. And should have been three up against ten men, when undone by the genius that should not have been on the pitch. A draw with Liverpool.in their backyard, a draw with money bags, and very consistent Newcastle. Brentford knocked Four past Unt, Five Past Leeds.
Oh and did we beat Villa or not.?
It will not be easy, it’s getting harder, but we mix it well with most so why be pessimistic?

Indeed not overburdened with optimism.

You don't say! Oh and Pangloss was usually wrong.

Come the Qatar Close the top few will be comfortably top leaving 15 or 16 teams in the drop zone.

January that list will have shrunk to 12 and so on. I suspect we will drop out in March or April leaving a couple doomed and a few sweating to the end - none of whom will be us.

Our inadequacies articulated above are well made but all teams have issues. Man City defence is no better than ours and they are going to stroll the title. The games against better teams this week demonstrate a resilience I was proud of and that will the steer us safely to a hard fought 11th season.

There may be nervy periods, in particular if we suffer injuries to key players.
To me the squad seems marginally weaker this season than last and clubs such as Fulham, who I thought might struggle, are coping well at the moment which means it's more difficult to identify the bottom teams other than possibly Bournemouth.
The key will be remaining defensively strong as I can't see many goals in our current team.
I hope we have a proper transfer strategy in place for January to make up for the shortcomings of the recent window as the need to strengthen is obvious.

Oh and our youth teams are thumping anyone who dares to play them. Our future is rosy.

Well we are 7 points behind Seagulls, likely to be minimum 10, when the next three rounds have been played, so us passing them in the table even over several years is somewhat unlikely.

The way teams like Brighton and Brentford are playing and scoring fun fun, and with the teams just below us, Villa, Everton, West Ham, surely moving up, we need some luck not to end up in the relegation zone!

And that is even with our best starters. With a few injured key players we will be in real trouble.

Gallagher needed in the winter transfer window, I am afraid, to keep is out of the relagation battle.

Assuming that we learn our lesson from Brentford on Tuesday than I see no reason why we shouldn't stay up.
I think we will struggle more than last year and fear we will become more one-dimensional but also suspect that come January we will make a couple of astute purchases to ensure an easy mid-table position

We have had a tough start to the season. We had a bit of luck yesterday to get a point, but we could easily have beaten both Liverpool and City away with a bit of better fortune. Keep the faith.

You forget that we have played most of our difficult matches now. Liverpool, City and castle away. Arsenal we played well got sod all. Brentford IMO was our only really average performance.

A couple more tricky matches and then expect the points to grow.

We are a small club, run sensibly for our income.

Happy happy JOY, JOY!
