Personally I think the injury is a smoke screen and Wilf is going - probably to Arsenal with them shipping out Pepe and getting his wages off the book this week. You can’t begrudge Wilf the move - if you believe what you read Arsenal has always been his preferred destination as purportedly an Arsenal fan. It also gives him European football at the latter stage of his career. He’s been great for us and as I said I don’t begrudge him a shot at/in European football at this stage of his career. So far as Palace are concerned I have total faith in Parish, Freedman and Vieira - you don’t make the investments in the squad we have made over the last 12 months without having a plan in mind. With that in mind I suspect the Zaha position is one they have been waiting to resolve to complete our business in the window. Think if Zaha leaving comes to pass you will see 3 coming in - Sarr will be one, then a midfielder Gallagher, Aouar, Moriba or Lukic - personally I’d love to see Aouar - utter class..!! Then I think you’ll see AWB coming back on loan. Do that and IMO with the recruitment over the window so far and the last 12 months we’ll actually be stronger even without Wilf..!! I’m not ITK - but if you sit back and assess all the rumours - makes sense to me..!! On that basis I’m not worried at all - if anything find it quite exciting times..!! COYP

Off to Chelsea with CG and Broja coming the other way on loan. CG with option to buy.

That's quite a defensive response from Vieira, who is usually quite measured and calm. As the report says, it could just be frustration he's being asked about Wilf, but why not just say he's injured? It would have poured cold water on the kind of speculation the media love. Such a shame he was out yesterday as he would have had a field day against that City defence and as it was we missed his speed and ability on the break. Taking my Palace hat off, to my mind Arsenal would be mad not to try and get him. With Pepe gone they don't have a lot of depth on the wings and his experience and passion would serve them well in an unlikely title challenge. Hopefully he stays though and, importantly, wants to stay. I have said all along that I would actually rather we risk letting him leave than hold him against his will as we have such a good team spirit and we don't need that poisoned.

If we are to get any money from the sale then the time is now. Don’t see a way we can keep him happy. After benteke he is our highest earner, though it’s late in the window it showed against city we need a number 9 and a least another midfielder minimum. Also agree with what has been said in the cg thread, I don’t think he’s the answer but would get very excited with the prospect of broja coming the other way

Chelsea may be only apparently showing interest to get Everton to agree to a Gordon deal. However, if they are serious then selling us CG and loaning Broja might be on the cards Given their good - albeit slightly flattering start - Arsenal may feel Zaha gives them a really good chance of the top 4 or Europa Cup A bidding war now might prove better than a year more of Wilf, long term. Parish might feel that we are good enough to avoid relegation and we have Olise, JRS and Ebiowei as good young options wide going forward. I also feel that is Edouard's best position Personally, I'd like to see him stay until January and see the state of play then

If he is going to go to Chelsea, then we have no right footed winger, so Hudson-odoi as part of the deal or cash and then Sarr
“That’s a joke son, I say, that’s a joke.” “Nice boy, but he’s sharp as a throw pillow.” “He’s so dumb he thinks a Mexican border pays rent” “ “Son… I say, son, some people are so narrow minded they can look through a keyhole with both eyes.”__ Forhorn Leghorn |
