It’s a tricky scenario. Do we gamble and take a risk or keep going until the summer when the availability of good players increases?

Could you not have said almost exactly the same thing about our last attacking recruit from Bristol City, before he joined us? Not many of us were greatly enthusiastic about Yala's arrival, and it ended pretty well for us.

I would take the risk of not pursuing Semenyo right now. We apparently have very limited, if any, funds in this window and as PV has said, we need experienced players right now. I think Semenyo would be a good signing, but this January he's far from the priority.

Agreed. Midfield remains our no. 1 priority. Get the right player in and life will be more comfortable. Having said that, we don't need to be joining the clubs below us in panic-buying. I think we have enough to survive BUT a new midfielder would be very welcome now, nevertheless.

I think a CF is more important, if we stick with Doucoure and Hughes until the end of the season then see if Phillips or OzoH are ready, i would get Semenyo, as we have no right footed wide player anywhere near the first team, i think Moussa Dembélé is a real possible, only 52k a week, and contract ending this season, also being in Textors quartet, maybe a swap with Edouard involved

Zaha has generally played out wide and he is right-footed.

If they both keep fit! If either of them sustains even a medium term injury then we are in the proverbial - we've seen what the other options are like.

When Andersen is fit, i assume he will slot straight back in, what about Richards as a temporary cover if either get injured, i think a new RB is a must for next season.

You do have to wonder if, when everyone is fit, with three players as skilled as Richards, Andersen, and Guehi we won't at least consider playing three at the back in which case the need for a traditional right back would presumably become less urgent. Or, alternatively, Richards might be at least tried at right back (where I believe he has some experience playing in the past) before we committed our limited transfer budget to that position.

You speak for yourself. I was at Ashton and saw him dribble the ball past every outfield player and thought let's ave im!

Richards has played RB for Bayern., so could easily cover there. He is going to be a very good buy. IMO PV wants to try a back 3, Richards, Andersen and Guehi. Unfortunately we have not got the WB’s
