I am available to run him up to Wolverhampton for the medical if that helps. Not heard details of any offer yet, but any offer would be a bonus. Good first season, very little sense, capped off with that Man City penalty.

Only for one season has he been played as a centre forward scoring goals for us. That’s when Townsend whipped in early crosses. Perhaps teams play differently now, playing out from the back with slower attacking allowing defenders to get back quicker. Worries me that Wolves will use him better than we have and he gets more chances to stick the ball in the net? Hopefully I’m wrong but I would rather he went abroad to play rather than a prem side?

He’s not fit for purpose with us….matters not if he does not fit our style or our style does not fit him.

I don’t care where he goes as long as he goes somewhere and reduces our wage roll.

Watching him over the years, I’ve come to the conclusion that his leg speed is his major problem. Not just running speed but how quickly his leg pulls back and fires off a shot. It’s massively mechanical and ponderous and allows defenders to ‘pick his pocket’ These fractions of seconds count at this level.

Secondly he’s not good at finding the net to the side of keeper. No little glance up a nano second before he shots to place ball in corner of net. He was always a blast it in the general direction and ‘hope for best’ merchant.

Anyway…good luck to him.

I think this is good observation. Technically he is a very good player - good touch and control and good in the air. I would say he is very stationary ( Lanzo might say he does not run ) and although he can battle and win the duels with the centre half who is up against he needs to have someone along side him to benefit. Usually if he wins a dual Wilf is 50metres to the left and Ayew 50metres on the other side so the spare centre half just has to mop up the lose ball.

No wonder Benteke can't find Ayew or Zaha with a knock down if they are in the stands.

I think he will sign on loan to Standard Leige and we will pay half his wages until his contract is over, he needs to be playing somewhere at a lower standard to have any chance of getting in Belgium's WC squad

That could be a way forward however he will be behind Lukaku and Bats come what may. Cannot see a move for him in the PL unless to a less well established club and don't think he will sanction that. Suspect he will have another bench warming season with us.

All Bright with no Wright ? Fair point. As others mentioned team isn't set up like that presently, attacking down the centre, so he isn't unfortunately going to fit in.

He’s never been the same since his knee injury. I’m not sure what his plans are re World Cup, but I would not be surprised if he sees ha time out with us then go wherever he can to wind down his career.
He came on as sun v Montpellier. I left 5 mins later as all our potency had gone and I didn’t feel CB would deliver much up front especially in a friendly.

Trevor Aylott and Tommy Langley spring to mind.
I recall supporters making it known to Messrs Noades and Coppell at a 'Fans Forum' what they thought about a certain Mr Pardew !
