The front line would work better as a unit with Edouard in his position, who I think would score quite a lot of goals given the chance.

Not in the Australia tour squad. Although it may be for personal reasons, or that he isn't vaccinated.

The longer is goes on the least likely he will leave this Summer. Roma are holding out to get him on a free as it has been mentioned they need to sell before they can buy. I hope he stays because last season he was top draw in most matches and he was enjoying his football again. When Wilf is on fire there is no one like him in the Premiership….

I suspect this is the rubicon for Wilf in particular and slightly less so for us. Roma may not be the glamour move he once wanted (going to a top Champions League side), but it's clearly the best he's going to get and for us, if he won't sign a new contract then it's sell now or lose him for nothing next summer. Something has to give. On balance, I'd probably slightly rather he signed the new contract but I'm not anywhere near as distraught if he goes as I would have been 12 or 24 months ago. He's given us what are probably his best years and we're now in a position to absorb his departure without missing a beat, something you couldn't have said in the past. JRS, Ebiowebi, Olise, and others; we're not a one-man team with no other options out wide anymore. Not saying we won't miss Wilf but we're capable of adapting to life without him. It may just be that his departure is actually a good thing; arguably, we need to shift our identity from the "Wilf era" at this point and let the spotlight fall elsewhere. If he goes, and I suspect it might happen, it's a bit of a "meh" from me. Good luck to a Palace legend but the timing may suit all parties. Not much sleep lost. Onwards and upwards. As for the fee, if we can get around £25 million and a player PV actually wants, I have no problem with that.

Zaha has that X factor and is a talisman for us Although Eze and Olise are talented I think their are questions about their consistency / commitment Would be a brave move to let him go but if he wants to challenge himself then we should not stand in his way. The door I imagine will be open if it dosent pan out

He's out of contract next summer, meaning we "cannot" stand in his way whether we want to or not. The question now is simply whether we're prepared to let him walk for free (next summer) or whether we'd rather have £25 million for letting him go this summer, a year early but our last chance to get a return for him. Either way, Zaha's future is no longer in our hands. There's no bravery on our part involved anymore.

Depends how high we think we can go - whether Europe is a realistic aim. Let him decide then!

Exactly - if he was sold for £25 million then after Man U take their 25% we wouldn't have much more than the £17 million Notts Forest just paid for a 21 year old full back with no Premier League experience STAY!

I cant see the club having him advertising the new kit if they thought there was intention of him leaving.
“That’s a joke son, I say, that’s a joke.” “Nice boy, but he’s sharp as a throw pillow.” “He’s so dumb he thinks a Mexican border pays rent” “ “Son… I say, son, some people are so narrow minded they can look through a keyhole with both eyes.”__ Forhorn Leghorn |

I doubt Zaha will be going anywhere. As ever, his value to our team exceeds the sum any sensible club would pay to sign him. That he only has one year left on his deal only makes his sale less likely - I doubt we'd get much above £20m, and his goals and assists are worth half of that in league placing payments alone. Plus how exactly could we hope to replace his influence with that sort of money? We pay that sort of dough for centre backs and holding midfielders these days - a ready-made goalscoring, match winning forward will be much more expensive, so it's not like we can aim to sell Zaha and replace him with the money we get. I appreciate that this is the last chance to cash in, but he'll be determined to attract the attention of the biggest clubs, and so I'd expect him to be flying, which is ample compensation in the absence of a transfer fee. The big question is whether he signs a new deal with us this time next year. We'll probably be competitive with even the big clubs when it comes to his wages, so it'll all turn on whether a big club, competing in the champions league, want him in their team as a first choice player or not.
