If you get pushed in the back don't you fall forwards? The arms up was theatrics, and he rightly paid for it. Originally posted by steeleye20
Roy's organisation apparent I didn't think Watford were as bad as has been suggested. And Palace only won with a dubious penalty award.

For a team that had to win the game I thought Watford were dire. We didn't take full advantage of both their poor quality and being reduced to ten men. Saying that, I think had we have needed to, we could of gone up a couple of gears.

Really?? I thought they were worse than suggested, we didn’t play well, but if it wasn’t for Ben Foster we still would’ve buried them.

I suggest that had Olise shoved a Liverpool player then the VAR outcome would have been somewhat different!

What I was particularly disappointed with, was that we knew how Roy would set them up, that is narrow and tight with a drift defence. We failed to get the diagonal ball out to the wing (where there is alway space against a Roy side) either quick enough or accurately enough. I still think we desperately need a midfielder who can accurately pass and tear open defences with one touch. I lost count of the number of times the ball arrived slowly at Olise’s and Zaha’s feet and all they could was pass it backwards because the drift defence had time to come across and put pressure on them. Will Hughes had a decent game but he is no Cabaye and I thought Eze’s passing was only average.

He called it one of our best away performances in his time here .

I didn’t think we were great yesterday, you looked as though you’d thrown in the towel already. Was the perfect example for me of a soul being ripped out of a club and reflected on the pitch. I couldn’t even name half your team from yesterday and that’s despite being at the match. If I wish anything for Watford it is stability in the near future, whatever that looks like. That’s not a result of any sympathy for your club but out of pure empathy as a fellow football fan. A club is nothing without its fans and should always aim to represent that as opposed to holding a commercial identity. To be fair, despite all the glory, I’d feel similarly for true Man City fans and potentially Newcastle equally in the same vain.
Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!! |

Unfortunately he lacks in other areas of the game and is just too slow...which means he's not a starter. But boy can he pick a pass.

Luka's problem is that he so often baulks at drilling a pass out to the wing. Many is the time he looks up, sees it, but doesn't do it. Either he executes something more basic or gets challenged fir possession. The funny thing is, I think attempting more of those passes would help his whole game.
