Terrible performance, might aswell of not turnt up but we've still got super pat Vieira and he knows exactly what we need. Excited for the future let's get as many points as possible in the league.

Yes, I agree with your summary, take Connor out and we lose our sparkle and threat, Eze, may get better with more exposure but on today's performance he is not a replacement for Gallagher!

That's because he is a completely different player.

When he took off Mateta and brought in Ayew I knew the game was over.
Second half was piss poor.
With CG and a fit MO we might have had a chance, but second half they walked it and it should have been 3-0 at least.

Yep Ayew was absolute garbage and at fault for the second goal. Luka just has to be sold in the summer. I actually dread him being on the pitch now. He was on for such a short time but managed to do nothing but give the ball away.

It was a strange team selection and a strange approach to the game. We never came out for the 2nd half.

What's annoying is that both their goals came from our players pissing about with the ball in possession (Mitchell and Ayew)

And that miss by Anderson... Just unbelievable

Bit of an anti climax really but this squad is a work in progress and the future is certainly bright.

Don't waste your time with jealousy. Sometimes your ahead, sometimes your behind, the race is long. But in the end it's only with yourself!!

A shame that we never really made a game of it. Tactics kind of surprised Chelsea first half and it was a stalemate but we couldn't find any answers in the second half. Annoying that it just drifted by but it'll be a good bit of experience for the young team. Tough on Mitchell that his mistake cost us.

But anyway if you'd told me at the start of this season we'd be safe with 10 games or more to go and an FA Cup semi final I'd have snapped your hand off.

Hopefully a few more decent performances to come before the end of the season and then "transition part 2" in the summer.

Disappointing today but I still feel positive about our direction. Fans sounded great today.

Disappointed but not too surprised with the result.

All credit to our supporters who were majestic today, even after the final whistle.

Feel for Mitchell who had a strong game, but made one mistake.

Gallagher would have made a difference, how much we will never know and not worth trying to evaluate. Nothing to be gained.

Butland did OK and wasn't at fault for their goals.

Ayew tries to go it alone too much. Clearly desperate to score and lacks vision to see better opportunities for others.

Olise should have started and can only assume he wasn't fully fit.

Biggest let down was Eze. I used to be his biggest fan, but he didn't impress today. Far too negative I thought.

We did well to get to the semi with a young, inexperienced and inexpensive team. I expect more from them next year, but in the meantime, well done lads.

Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled.

did they cost 4 times or 8 times the Palace squad ? for money ?

Why are PSG not winning everything then.

Nothing to do with cost if it was Palace should have been relegated years ago.

We beat Man City this season and the other game only a few weeks ago was a draw this is the team who are top of the league look how much they are worth more then Chelsea.

Wilf never really does it against the top teams...certainly not Chelsea.....

He is not a top player that is why it is very clear to see the best players turn up in these games he never has this is what the scouts see as well which is why no big team is interested in him.

You boys turn against the manager and team in a thrice. This has been the best season for years and you still moan. Don't believe it. You to*sers think you can come up with a better match plan than one of the best premier league players of all time! Palace don't deserve tw ats like you wingers. Unbelievable.

Best season how so? its not over yet we are currently in 13th in the league with other teams very close behind us if we mess up a few more we could be down to 16th.

We reached a cup final with AP with mostly championship level players and finished in the league 15th.

Best league place has been 11th with very little investment those years.

Agree.

We didn't really show up today, said it before but will say it again we looked as though we were playing for penalties which may have actually worked on another day but is disappointing.

Butland not to blame but I think Guaita would have been the better choice, c'est la vie! Mitchell made a mistake, easy to read too much in to, he's already earned his forgiveness and we move on.

Would liked to have seen a bit more attacking intent, a bit of Wilf's magic, a few more chances created, etc. etc. We have a new look, young and promising squad but a few way past their best still hanging on: Jmac, Luka, Ward, Ayew, Benteke etc etc. All have more than had their day of course but not quite up for it, at all, anymore.

It looked to me as though Chelsea were there for the taking first half, but they probably thought the same about us. One team took the initiative second half and the other didn't.

Frustrating, disappointing and in the end a poor showing from us but, again, c'est la vie. I wouldn't have held much hope for the final if we did go through, admittedly, and in the grand scheme of things a trip to Wembley is never too shabby for a first season manager. Let's hope for a few more wins and points for a decent finish as the season closes.

COYP!!!

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

The first hour the tactics worked well in terms of stifling Chelsea and there was not much between the teams.
When Mateta went off it seemed to unbalance us and we seemed to play 10 yards further back and invited pressure.
There was only going to be one winner after that.
Good performances from the centre backs and Kouyate.

We really missed Gallagher today. No great surprise that when your best player and pretty much ever-present all season ISNT playing - that you struggle to adapt and other players don’t step up, especially at a pressure occasion like Wembley. We either try and replace him or we move on with the players we have. Still a good season.

Anti climax or missed opportunity?! Not sure what is applicable

However, I agree with others…it’s one game…second half just attack and enjoy it. Only when the changes were made did we start to look a little more threatening.

Personally, should have stuck with our usual system…Ward playing as a wing back did not work.

Anyway, it was a good day out…did see Mitchell limping off at the end…hopefully just fatigue
