I suppose they had to make it entertaining somehow - as it was basically just a load of sh1t. Absolutely none of it was relevant to me as I am neither Black/ disabled or Trans/Homosexual/something else. It shouldn't need to be only for these categories but it was - this is really woke gone mad. They must have a funny idea of their audience. Deaf or Northern Irish were the big ones this year, I heard.

Let's see what Smith does, he deserves a lot of criticism and the anger over this situation is justified. He'll be fine. Apparently you can't criticize a Black man for punching someone on live TV because that makes you a racist. It's the double standard of identity politics. You only need to see the usual suspects shouting racist on here to see how the wokeists rally around the same old nonsense when something indefensible happens.

Barely anyone on here has defended Smith's actions in the slightest. In fact almost everyone has criticised his actions in no uncertain terms. They just do not reduce it solely down to a 'black man bad' angle like you do. It's funny how, yet again here, the violent action is attributed to 'black' and yet the (black) person who behaved impeccably in the face of physical violent and expletives is just 'someone'. His behaviour means nothing to you, because you can't use it to attack others based on their race. That's what it comes down to I'm afraid. It's this same skewed mantra in repeat with you and it more than rivals the nauseating 'I'm a quarter Cuban and have a clubfoot so where's my Oscar?' opposite on display at these back patting ceremonies. You show little genuine interest in people of other races other than how you can 'reduce' them down to an angle of attack against other people like them or those you perceive to be elevating them. Hell, you've even done it in the obituary thread of a dead black actor. You're free to do so, but what a sad way to conduct yourself. The thread had developed more of a jovial tone.. Unless you're blacked up while writing your post you really have no excuse.

You seem incapable of understanding. The point here is that the Woke brigade will bring race into the argument. When Black people stop receiving positive discrimination, indulging in blatant hypocrisy, and refrain from continuously referring to themselves divisively by their colour, then maybe we will stop having these kinds of conversations. Road House is genuinely one of the funniest films ever made; Sam Elliott hobbling about with his walking stick being the biggest badass in town, Swayze philosophising as well as sorting out hundreds of punters, Ben Gazzara chewing the scenery and Jeff Healey playing his guitar - brilliant. The Chuckle Brothers are in the new Bad Boys prequel, although one has had to be replaced by a CGI version.

There's a lot that can be said about the double standards and anti white stuff going on in Hollywood within...even the mainstream in western Europe and the US. However, with this event I think the class thing is an even bigger double standard....I think I'll reserve any racial commentary to far more serious events than this. The double standards are there but this was essentially about other stuff.

Edited by Hrolf The Ganger (29 Mar 2022 8.50pm) Two sides of the same coin, grouping people up in ways that are largely detached from who they are. Negative and limiting colour and creed filters. The majority of people outside of activists are not nodes of this agenda or that. Most aren't party political broadcasts with shoes on. They are normal working men and women. My view of black, white and in between isn't coloured by your conduct, that of a woke joke who is blinkered in the opposite direction, or an online echo chamber. It is instead a natural development of living a life; of friends and family. It's perfectly possible to hold all kind of political views without letting it so broadly bleed into how you perceive others. Originally posted by Hrolf The Ganger
No one would say that praise is because he is Black, would they?
I'll leave it at that anyway. Not much point in saying anything to begin with really. Edited by BlueJay (29 Mar 2022 9.55pm)
