I feel sick. We really took the game to them today, and got a cruel sucker-punch right at the close.

Can't argue with their quality, but we gave them no respect, and were well worth the point. Didn't expect much out of the game, but we really stepped up.

I think the results so far in 2022 already show we are in a relegation battle unfortunately.

Watford and Burnley scoring and winning in difficult away games.

Palace with zero efforts on goal in a difficult home game.

With still have 26 points, but if (when) we have lost the next two games (without scoring), we will be heading for relegation…

Anything out of today would have been a bonus but 89th minute goal is tough to take.

If we lose midweek them we will seriously need to consider Vieira’s position. Make absolutely no mistake about it, we are in a relegation scrap.

Yes, its hard to understand why PV would not play either of the two Centre forwards he has bought, i think PV has a Bias to African Players, i hate yo say it but it looks like, Wilf, Ayew, Sclupp and Kouyate are untouchable

Watford win, Burnley win, Palace throw more points away. It ain’t looking good at the moment. Watford is a massive game and they will be buzzing.

Why bring Eze on when we were looking to secure a point? Hughes would have made more sense for the last 8 or 9 minutes.

Hughes should have started in the first place regardless. Should have started four in the middle imo.

Gutted - pissed - fed up

Why again -

Fed up of having the feeling of being pissed because of a late goal.

As with so many that could’ve been prevented.

Aggghhhh.

We are not in a relegation scrap - those saying so - it’s over the top.

That was a decent competitive performance, but we didn’t take the few good chances created.
At the moment I’d take a bad performance and scruffy goal if it got us a result.
Watford next and they have dangerous forwards now back includung Sarr, Dennis and King.
We’ll need to do better offensively as I’m not sure we’ll keep a clean sheet.

We just don't know how to win as it is. I am beginning to get really worried.

play like we did today, and we will trounce teams in the bottom third of the table.

if only we could bottle the performance of the first 88 minutes today

Zaha and Olise teamed up really well and both had chances to score that perhaps they should have taken. Those asking why Zaha was up top should maybe look back to the Etihad where Zaha also started as the main striker and was very effective. The reality is he works a lot harder than Mateta and Bentenke, retains the ball better than all three strikers and can create something out of nothing, which he almost did again today. When you're pushed deep against the big teams you either have to hit direct balls to a big man to try and hold up (which to be frank none of our forwards have done well at this season) or you rely on quick breaks and use someone like Wilf through the middle.

Defensively we were really solid for most of the game and barely game Chelsea a sniff. The goal was poor, but Mitchell will hopefully learn from that as by and large he contained one of the most in-form players in Europe as he did against Salah.

I have few complaints today as considering the opposition we looked good enough for at least a draw and I also think this 4-2-3-1 formation could potentially get the best out of our creative players. Against Watford hopefully Wilf will replace Schlupp on the left and one of the strikers comes back in.

With regard to the officials, how Chelsea didn't get more bookings only the PL gods can tell you. Ok the ref missed a lot of fouls (especially by Rudiger) but Olise commits one foul and gets booked whereas some Chelsea players committed 4 or 5 each without barely a talking to. The linesman somehow missed the double foul on Ayew by Rudiger when it literally took place at his feet! Also, once again we saw the bigger teams getting away with the tactic of fouls every time we try and break. Ayew was stopped from breaking free at least four times with Sarr not getting a booking until really late on. Vieira was apoplectic at one point for Chelsea using this tactic.
