after a couple of meh performances, it wouldn't surprise me if we beat Chelsea now.

Lets hope we can get Macca back in to the midfield now, and recapture some of that early season form.

I veer from optimism to abject negativity about it all!
We have only won 2 games in 13 which is poor form with the addition of 5 draws although we really should have beaten Norwich which would have changed those stats.
That poor form - if continued - would still see us safe which is all we were probably hoping for at the start of the season - I was anyway.
I think the issue is that we have promised far more than we have delivered whereas last season we delivered far more than our performances warranted.
We absolutely need points against Watford and Burnley - lose those and there could be problems but like others say it would be typical Palace to turn Chelsea over this Saturday!

Norwich, Watford Burnley are doomed.

Doomed I tell you, doomed doomed doomed!!!!!

The nearest to us Norwich are 9 points adrift.

It's all very well saying they can catch up, but it's a very different matter on the pitch.

At best say a point a game that's 9 matches just to catch up, there are then only 5 more matches to play in the entire season.

And we, of course, would have had to lose 9 on the trot.
_________________________________________________________________Burnley have three games in hand over us they could easily pick up 7 point. We play Watford twice that 6 points at stake. Our position is far more precarious than you think. It’s unlikely that we will go down but it’s a possibility if we don’t start winning a few games

1. Re Burnley, they have won just ONE game all season (back in October!). What makes you think they can EASILY pick up 7 points from their 3 games in hand?
2. As for Watford, the games are 6 pointers. We just have to ensure we don't lose them. It isn't essential we win them (although, of course, that would be great if we did).

Start worrying (a little) if we do lose our the 2 upcoming games against Watford and Burnley. No need for pessimism just yet.

I think you're right in that the most important thing is we don't lose to Watford and Burnley. They will both be under huge pressure to beat us and the question will be whether they rise to it or succumb to it. We have been pretty strong at home, so there's no guarantee Chelski will beat us either, especially with their current PL form.

Every season we go through this spell of games where we do not win. We eventually string a few wins together afterwards.

This is where we learn what vieria is made off. Can he pull us out of a loosing run like roy hodgson was able to?

We aren't really in a 'loosing run' as you put it, more like a 'non-winning' run. Our last 5 matches: D L W D D.

This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise.

The win in that sequence was a cup game so it’s actually 3 points out of 15. If we were to only average that percentage of points for the rest of the season the likelihood is that we will be relegated.

You could also say that based on the average so far this season we are likely to end up with 38/39 points whereas, Burnley and Watford will Likely get to 25 and Norwich 27 so hopefully that should see us over the line but we do have to improve on the run in I agree!

I sincerely hope you are right and I am wrong, however the facts are that we are on the upper fringe of the relegation battle and until we have more points than those behind us can achieve then this remain a real possibility. We have won once on the road all season to date and like it or not PV appears to have had similar problems at Nice where 37 away games produced only 0.9 goals per match. Even PV admits in his latest press conference that he is aware that if the teams below us continue to show improved form and we do not improve then we could be dragged in to the drop battle ourselves. That means we have to start converting the chances in to goals and our so called strikers need to deliver. You have to win games to stay in this league draws are not going to keep you safe. Even now there are some on here who still believe that Europe is a possibility which is just fantasy, we currently could not be further away from Europe if we were based in America. PL survival is so important to this clubs future so it has to be our first priority each season, playing attractive football is pleasing on the eye until you end up in the championship or even lower (look at Sunderland/Charlton) and frankly I do not want to go there!

Thats rubbish, PV did not say that at all. Jeez, Why not start making things up to bolster your point?
I have no more time for this post and doom mongers comments like 'I hope you're right but....' We are going through a slight baron run. EVERY team does. We have not been in relegation form all season. No reason at all to think that will change. For a start how about acknowledging that we are better than the teams below us?

Exactly every team in the bottom half are close to the relegation spots, our squad and the way we are playing, we won't be relegated.

There is no direct "quote" from PV in that article about being dragged into the relegation zone.
