One of those things. Do we NEED him? Probably not. But any chance you get to get a player of undoubted quality in to add depth and competition to a side can really only ever be a good thing.

My only though is as others have said, I'm not mad about a loan only deal, so we potentially get him back up to speed so UTD can reap the rewards.

However overall it also adds to our appeal and standing amongst other players as an attractive place to be, and if he can help carry the load and bang in 8 goals before the end of the year, then happy days!

Agree entirely. Gallagher has been unusually good. Batshuayi was useful in one loan session and hopeless in the next. Generally, I don't think they are as committed as i would expect them to be.

Is this the only Window when we haven't been linked with Jack Wheelchair, on loan or otherwise?

I think the opposite would be true with this one as it seems DvdB is desperate to play and wants to get back in the Dutch squad. It was similar with Lingaard at West Ham last season who was fantastic.

Having said that, I'd like to know what the club's thinking is on why they want him, as it doesn't seem like a priority position. Is it to climb a few more places? Is it to ensure we don't get dragged into a relegation fight (with those below us seemingly investing in new players)? Or is it to raise the profile of the club? Maybe it is as simple as his representatives approached Palace and they saw it as too good an opportunity to turn down.

Just as people said when one M Meyer was available.

because we would never in a million years have been able to attract a player of that class. We now might get to enjoy him for half a season, which in-turn will help progress us.

He’d be a lot better in PVs Palace than he’s was in Roy’s.

No Meier wouldn't, we're a tough tackling outfit. That's why Eze can't through the middle right now, we need Schlupp in the middle. He bullied Liverpool at the start of the second half.

I ain't got nuthin' funny to say. Sorry.

Asked my Manure supporting golfing mates today why should we sign DVDB on loan and they replied no one knows because we have hardly ever seen him play to know how good or bad he is. General view is he in not very quick but a good passer of the ball. So it is anyone’s guess how good or bad he would be be if he ever joins us on loan. COYP

Good, I’m pleased.

Really excited at the prospect of seeing him in a Palace shirt.
