CPFC website:

The two teams last played in a 2004 League Cup meeting, when Dougie Freedman was among the scorers in a 2-1 Palace win, and haven’t faced off in the FA Cup since 1993, making this a unique fixture.

Any thoughts on what makes this fixture unique?

My effort: It'll be the first time Palace have ever played Hartlepool when the date is 5 February 2022.

Palace since 19 August 1972. Palace 1 (Tony Taylor) Liverpool 1 (Emlyn Hughes)

That doesn't seem the worst price to me. I pay that for League of Ireland matches and more for the rugby. I see there are a lot of negative comments about it.

Great gesture from our club to subsidise coach travel for Hartlepool fans.

Train travel is so expensive but can imagine that some wil prefer the train or their own transport.

Guess that the coaches will stretch along Whitehorse lane to south Norwood hill!

4700 is roughly half of the stand. I imagine that Hartlepool will be offered more tickets if these sell through although I expect 4700 is plenty.

It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses.

Yup a good gesture however I notice that Hartlepool are still charging their supporters £12 for the coach trip. I guess that will go to the club?

Anyway well done CPFC we need more of this type of thing in the football family.

Yep, good to see us helping with the 'Pools travel costs and it will add to the atmosphere if they bring plenty down. But it does sound a bit like rent-a-crowd. Surely we'll fill Selhurst won't we or are games like this so unattractive?

Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled.

Shame CPFC not saving season ticket holders seats for a few days.
Then again who cares about these reliable paying customers ,

My sons seat in Holmesdale was not available at 10PM last night 13th just a few hours after tickets go on sale when many STH would not even have details

At least his was available. Mine is in the Arthur.
But I’m not moaning. I may even come in the Homesdale lower, cos it’s much quieter than the Arthur.

Agreed.

Nice gesture that you'd hope that most Premiership clubs would do in this position.

I can understand the frustration for a ST holder losing their seat. For many, myself included, as a gold member you generally can't get a ticket in the lower Holmesdale these days and are limited to pretty average seats (which is fair enough). Personally I see the FA Cup as an opportunity to get as close to Block E as possible so always pounce on it - I'm sure I'm not alone in this.

It was strange that I was able to purchase up to 10 tickets - far too many.

Should be a cracking atmosphere and hopefully a straight forward win with a few goals to celebrate. Judging by the starting 11 against M***wall, PV seems to be taking the cup seriously, and so he should.

I’ll accept that - seems to have generated a lot of interest. The football is more entertaining since boring Hodgson days.
