He is a disgrace to the shirt, 65m Stolen, the 3 biggest mistakes buying Benteke and selling Glenn Murray and Mile Jedinak, all made by Pardew Yet without the goals he scored under FSA Palace would most likely have been relegated. Benteke's a very good player. A series of CPFC managers have seemed to agree on that. To judge by the way opposing sides treat him, a lot of EPL managers and defenders see things the same way. The fact that Pardew spent a lot of money replacing Murray unnecessarily and then getting dumped with Dwight Gayle has nothing to do with that - irritating as it was. Have been impressed by Mateta in recent games scoring against Norwich and Millwall - wonder if he will start on Friday

To be fair to Mateta, whilst he doesn't look great or seam to add a lot, he seams to be reasonably clinical. Not sure that's enough but he obviously has some ability. Both his Norwich and Brighton goals were really well taken.

I like his attitude, and he is a presence in the box. He could hold the ball up better, but he is decent. He will cost us a chunk but unless we are about to sign someone considerably better, why not keep him? Nketiah was awful against Forest, although his team didn't give him much chance to shine.

Yes its great to have more "two footed" players in our team.. We need this player in the squad, hes young and not that expensive, hes improving at this level. No brainier to keep him.

something peter crouch about him , but the one thing i have noticed he has bulked out he is only 15m long as his wage bill is not to high i say keep him, that gives us 3 different striker options not like for like , as for Nketiah my brothers Arsenal and said we can have him for Teke i sooner keep Christian

Mateta at 15 millions I mean football money is barmy to me anyway but that looks reasonable value. If he went then presumably we would trawl around maybe in decreasing circles looking for a replacement. His youth is on his side a big strong boy as they say. I like him.

Mateta, has improved markedly, yes he has picked up a couple of goals, but that’s not all, we needed from him , and his all round contribution has improved, he looks stronger, his ball control is not perfect but more reliable.. he seems to be getting a tackle in now winning possession. It often takes continentals time to adjust to our game, especially young players, unless we are getting an outstanding talent in, the fact that kid has proved he can get better, is improving, best keep with him.

Mateta is okay. Tall, tough, skilful, fast, deadly. I think he's an upgrade of Tekkers, who, TBH, I fear may not have put Olise's cross away...
