Good point in the end - but should have been three really ! Busy two weeks ahead now. A few need some early nights and perhaps Santa will bring some new lucky boots to a couple. Happy Christmas all !

Coming back from behind, so I will take the point, apparently according to BT last time we won on Wednesday night in PL was in 1993, so on that basis happy with a point.

How many times exactly have we played on a Wednesday in this league, probably about three times or something silly they always come out with these utter crap pieces of information.

..apparently we've only won one in twelve home games, cannot find info on losses yet.

Everton made us look good by not pressing. Southampton pressed.

seems to have lost his pace ? when tracking back to defend.

With Anderson out the back line was limited to passing the ball out along the ground, which with Soton's press put us under a lot unnecessary pressure. Anderson has a much longer range of passing which is needed when we need to get the ball out quickly without reverting to hoofball back to the oppo.

Need to find a way of making better use of Edouard. Yes he was having a mare towards the end. But we didn't find him enough in the spaces where he's dangerous.

Nice to see the positive substitution lead to a goal. And the team was trying to win the game until the end, no running into corners. Huge difference in mentality compared to previous seasons.

PV will have seen everything that we saw and plenty to work on in training.

Big fan of Tomkins over the years but he was poor tonight. Head in his hands in the dug out after being subbed tells me he agrees. Long time out of the team and 2 games in 4 days looked too much for him at his age.

Just sloppy tonight, gave the ball away too much, Hughes best in midfield, Gallagher oķ but not dominate, Wilf and Eduoard guilty of loose passing and ball control.

Why no Eze?

Giving away cheap free kicks in our own half makes me swear and wakes up my sleeping wife at 6.30am. Double whammy!!

At least we didn't lose and Ayew scored, hooray!!

As others have said I really don't know what to make of that performance...
It was messy and we gave away a ridiculous amount of fouls in silly areas against a team with one of the best dead ball specialists in the League.

I'm getting tired of Wilf if I'm honest. He gives the ball away at least 5 or 6 times a game, however he can produce moments here and there that means he keeps his place.

We have got to get a new right back and left back... Mitchell and Ward are both as bad as each other going forward. Tomkins had an absolute nightmare game. Thank god Anderson is back.

Work in progress.

Mitchell needs replacing ? He's having an outstanding season.

We are excellent with giving the ball away outside our box and encouraging the opposition to attack us, very sloppy tonight and very frustrating to watch, our defenders need to practise when to pass the flipping ball forward and when to pass it side to side because it's going to cost us valuable points.

Outstanding??... His forward play is not good enough if we want to progress... He looks scared when he gets the ball in final third and just will not take people on.
I want him to succeed I really do but he hasn't kicked on in his forward play at all.
