I know I am going to cop s*** from you guys on this but Jordan Ayew is a very negative player, where Wilf explodes when he loses the ball, Jordan sulks. Look at his body language when he loses the ball or sends a dud pass or misses a shot on goal. to me that sends a wrong message to his team mates. Some of you guys have played the game, does having a sulker affect the team as a whole.

All I have seen from him over the last 3 games is an extreme desire to win the game. No sulking at all that I can see.

Yes he was, but how badly was he injured. Looked to be in a lot of discomfort at the end of the game. Hope he's OK. He hobbles around like he’s got arthritis most of the time after tackles so I wouldn’t read too much into it.

No one questions his attitude and work rate, but wished he could release the ball quicker. Prefer Olise any given matchday on the right wing.

Aside from possibly Gallagher he must be the hardest working player in the team and over the last few games he is finally starting to look more threatening in the final third. He certainly shouldn't be a player we are critical of at the moment. I advocated replacing him with Olise earlier in the season as he wasn't adding enough offensively, but he is now getting crosses in the box, driving into the box and he even (finally) scored again. If he's now off to AFCON (or is injured) Olise will get another chance to prove he can be effective over 90 minutes and not just 15, but Ayew has definitely laid down the mantle.

Ayew has done a cracking job. Even though Olise is an exciting prospect who we all want to see flourish, Viera just can't afford to drop Jordan. He and Ward have such a good understanding defensively; it seems odd given our propensity to concede but it's true.
I ain't got nuthin' funny to say. Sorry. |

As with many here I have been a critic of Jordan’s, for all his hard work his contributions have been poor however he has certainly gone up a gear or two recently. Undroppable at the moment. All our best attacking situations have gone through him for the last few games. I’m sure Olise is secretly happy to see him go off to afcon Edited by MonsterMunch (02 Jan 2022 4.14pm)

It is interesting to note that Sky listed Ayew as the second most fouled player in the Premier League, with 50 fouls against, behind Wilf who has 51 fouls against! We need to find a way of capitalising on all those free kicks!
