The past few years I've gone into the season with the hope that we could finish top half. There were two targets in reaching that:
Almost a third of the season gone and I'm enjoying it so much. Honestly, I can only recall a few games the past few years where I've actually consciously enjoyed the experience, because most wins have been excruciatingly terrifying to watch. We have had some incredible results, but mostly I've felt emotionally drained by the end of the game because the victories have been so tight. Then, more recently, performances have been lacklustre and utterly under-whelming. December last year we played Villa and Liverpool, and these were absolute shockers. And I am comfortable to admit it now, but that win over Brighton was embarrassing. I took no pride in winning that, even if they are our rivals. They deserved to win. I hope these points make sense! I love my team, and I always back the manager, and I always back the players, and I don't expect them to be the absolute best. But there's no doubt a malaise had set in, the spirit of 2010, which had been inherited by successive incarnations of the Palace first 11, had entirely dissolved. Fast forward a year: We control games. We control them well. We are imperfect, yet exciting. When we win, we are great. When we fail, we know we had a go. Now we have an identity. We've not had an identity since Jedinak and Delaney left. Now we are youthful, energised, exhilarating, empowered by a can-do attitude.
Great post, my feelings exactly.

What a lovely afternoon to be a Palace fan! You're not kidding. Frankly it was pathetic. It was an appalling display of play acting with one of their players going down every 5 minutes and rolling around as if in their death throes.

Yeah, reminded me of Portugal of a few years ago. We simply outplayed them the vast majority of the game. I'm frankly can't hardly believe the way we play this year, so exciting and doesn't seem transitory. I'm actually really excited about Palace going into every game

I think we need to take a moment and pause to reflect here.
Just accept it, the tactics and football under Hodgson was horrendous and the only thing he got right was the end result which was staying up, the football is 100x better under viera and he proves you can actually play to win at this level.

I watched the whole match live and thought the commentator and Glen Murray were both excellent. They had nothing but praise for Palace and made the whole experience more entertaining. They actually commentated rather than telling us what they thought was happening and boring us with useless statistics. "Both excellent!"

We made Wolves look bang average and we stuck at it and got our reward. Not sure what the officials saw disallowing Wilf’s goal to start with as Danny Murphy stated on MOTD, you only had to look down the lines of the cut grass to see he was played onside. It’s a shame we have another international break as we are just getting going now.

Fantastic all round, i don't think i have ever seen a Palace team play with so much Determination, Fitness, Strength, Enthusiasm and single mindedness, Thank you Patrick and Co, and we still have Eze, Fergusson and for the future Rak-Sakyi, Fantastic COYP
“That’s a joke son, I say, that’s a joke.” “Nice boy, but he’s sharp as a throw pillow.” “He’s so dumb he thinks a Mexican border pays rent” “ “Son… I say, son, some people are so narrow minded they can look through a keyhole with both eyes.”__ Forhorn Leghorn |

We need to raid the piggy bank in Jan and buy Gallagher. Beg, borrow, steal whatever it takes. £45m. He would be the platform for this club to challenge for Europe.

What’s the crack like in Burnley to watch a match? . I’m thinking of going in a couple of weeks. I bet the beers great up there.
