The latest from PNE is the hamstring injury may be so bad they are considering removing Wickham from their 25-man squad.
He will be seeing a specialist and they fear he may well be out until 2022.
Wickham probably knows more about medicine than the doctors by now.
Should probably consider it as a career.

The guy really needs to call it a day now. His body is telling him that it cant hack it.

I dunno ME, do you remember Norman Whiteside? Youngest player to appear in the world cup finals, a prodigy. Like Connor, he was unfortunate with the old injuries. He had to retire from football.

He became a podiatrist - very successfully.

Amazing: Have a read about what the Chronicle up there in the north-east had to say during Connor Wickham's time at Sunderland back in May, 2012.

MARTIN O’NEILL admits injury-blighted Connor Wickham has endured a “very difficult, stop-start” beginning to his Sunderland career.

However, the Black Cats boss insists the 19-year-old will be given a chance to prove himself in pre-season.

Wickham – an £8m signing from Ipswich Town last summer – has struggled to make an impact at the Stadium of Light, and is sidelined by an ankle injury.

The fact that others have it worse in life doesn't disqualify Wickham from sympathy, surely?

The impact on a person of having every boys dream given to them by one hand and taken away by the other seems notably cruel to me. Correctly or otherwise, Wickham was touted as an England centre forward when he was a teenager, and for the rest of his days he'll wonder what he could have achieved if not for circumstances entirely beyond his control. Perhaps most of us would happily swap with him, but none of his peers would in a million years.

A lot of boys dreams is to be a millionaire, sh*g women that are bang out of their league (due to them being a millionaire) and retire at 35 (due to them being a millionaire).
We made him a millionaire, lucky f*cker.

I wonder if Connor knows that he has a stalker

I think it's clear for all to see who has the soft spot for little Conor.

I don't expect miracles from people posting on a football forum but with luck and a following wind you may eventually join the human race

Vierra has brought in a very interesting coaching team. Osin Roberts clearly has proven abilities. The football we are starting to play has never been delivered by Palace before. The problem is we don’t have a full team yet performing to the new style. But we are already looking bloody good. Give them all time. Some of you have mentioned some players who probably won’t make it, but we have got plenty in the wings looking for their chance. Injuries fitness and youth are keeping them out at the moment. But our management and coaching team are watching very closely. I have every confidence that they will draft in the right players at the right time. Frustrating we are not there yet but you can see clear signs of a very impressive evolving style. With the players in the wings we have we are on the cusp of very exciting times. Patience is the word. I’m really sure Palace will deliver soon enough and then the roof really will come off on all four stands. Monday night atmosphere and noise was off the scale.

I find that rather amusing coming from you
