He has been fantastic for us. His energy and willingness to regain possession , drive forward and join in the attack is a joy to watch. Unfortunately I think we are just developing him for Chelsea. At 21 years old now he is a fantastic prospect (for them) and could easily break into their team in a couple of years. I really hope this doesnt happen and that he stays / we somehow do a deal but I fear its unlikely.

This thread is exactly the same as the sakho one when he was on loan, then fans moaned about parish signing him on big wages.

I don't think he's going to do a Sakho.

I adore him.

We ain't getting him though sadly.

Breaks my heart but thats the fact of the matter.

Some people think football is a matter of life and death. I don't like that attitude. I can assure them it is much more serious than that.

Extending his loan is our best bet, it would suit him, us and Chelsea, you can see he loves playing for Palace. Hanging on to him even if we bought him would be a problem. The same problem that has arisen with Wilf. He will want to play for a club that has a genuine chance of winning silverware. The league and Champions League which he clearly won’t be able to do with us.

Extend for another year, two years at palace will do him and us, wonders... esp if we progress and finish top ten with a good cup run.

Then he goes to Chelsea almost a starter... but who knows, they may not need him and think selling him to us could suit them... stranger things may happen.

Let us enjoy him as long as we can. And yes, he is awesome. Just surprised he is not mentioned for the full England squad? Jessi Lingaard hardly plays for his club, but still is with the national team. Even if manager Southgate stated he picks players in form......

I agree, he's a breath of fresh air and thoroughly deserves his Player of the Month awards. But I feel slightly sorry for Joachim Andersen, who has been immense and would probably have attracted much more praise for his excellent performances had it not been for Conor's sensational start.

There are rumors that Newcastle want to buy Gallagher. How does that work since he's on loan to us from Chelsea? Could Newcastle buy him and recall him in the January window, or are we guaranteed to have him until the end of this season?

2017 Feb. (Van Aanholt) Palace 1 - 0 Middlesboro
2018 Jan. (Sako) Palace 1 - 0 Burnley
2019 May (Batshuayi, Batshuayi, OG, Van Aanholt, Townsend) Palace 5 - 3 Bournemouth
2020 Feb. (Van Aanholt) Palace 1 - 0 Newcastle

Very unlikely. Chelsea could try to cut the loan short in January, but only if we agree to it as well. That is the rule. But we have a good relationship anyway with Chelsea, and they would rather Gallagher continue his development with us for the season, and he seems happy here, plus he lives in London as well.
