I thought England looked distinctly average last night. Yes there was a period in the first half when Saka and Grealish were impressive, but in the 2nd half we looked slow and uninspired. I fear that we will come up short again when we play the top sides and wouldn't fancy our chances that much against Germany, Netherlands, France, Italy or Belgium. I hope I am proved wrong and we can find something extra when it is required.

Nice to see you give Roy credit. I have to disagree though, after getting through the group of death it will seem like a bye. Whoever it is will not want to play us at Wembley. And the prospective opposition know we did the minimum yet still topped a group including the Czechs and Croatians, didn't concede a goal, only one yellow, no injuries and we know everything about THEM we need to beat them. [Obvs words that may come to haunt me...]

Best night of games so far last night. Had everying - the only thing it lacked was a Shock. but it Was close! Typical Germany scraping through. gonna be a tough one for us next week.

Not a lot about England versus Germany? I suspect that some of us don't give England much of a chance. Sooner or later we will beat them in a major competition but I don't see it being this one unless they pull their finger out. I have a feeling that the Scots will be gloating come Tuesday night.

Providing England are positive and play on the front foot then I think we will win, obviously we can't go out all gun blazes but if we get a goal up we should look to get another. Germany are beatable and when I look at the two squads I think Englands is better overall. Won't be much in it going for 2-1 England.

I chatted to Dan, a builder working on a site near me this morning. He reckons that ending up with Germany from that group is by far the best option for England. So, there you have it. England will get through. Dan says so.
Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled. |

You know there are folk on here who posted- without the slightest irony - that no one from the entire England squad could get into the Dutch side. People post such tosh.
