Can any of the people who view Trump in a favourable light explain to me how the below three actions taken in the last few days of his time in office square with his rhetoric of the last four years? - Pardoning Elliott Broidy, who pleaded guilty to conspiring to act as a foreign agent as he lobbied the Trump administration on behalf of Chinese government interests. Given the heat that Biden gets for his apparent connection to China this seems like something that should leave a bad taste in Trump supporters mouths. - Pardoning Steve Bannon's charges for defrauding Trump supporters who had donated to non-profit organisation We Build the Wall and redirecting funds to his personal accounts. This one admittedly hasn't gone to trial yet but Bannon did admit to it on a live stream himself so his innocence is pretty tough to argue. I assume Bannon knew this pardon was coming down the line hence his willingness to openly speak about it. - The reversal of his own executive order which blocked government officials from holding lobbying positions for up to 5 years after leaving office. Given his election promise of 'draining the swamp' it seems strange he would look to reverse this just as he is about to leave office. This is actually an executive order I am in full support of so it frustrates me to see this reversed. My guess is it has something to do with Don Jr, Eric and Ivanka getting lucrative lobbying roles... DRAIN THAT SWAMP! Edited by SavoyTruffle (21 Jan 2021 7.14pm)

I confess I struggle with almost all of them (apart from Bannon). In fact, the entire 'pardon frenzy' at the end of any Presidents term is sketchy across the board. Certainly left a sour taste in my mouth though. Will put my hands up to that.

True. Yes there are sensible voices from all perspectives. Often they remain silent and just cast their vote unfortunately. The online and especially social media swirl mostly involves the adamant few . Not according to Maine eagle. All rep voters are racists apparently!

I think wissie likes the challenge and bearing in mind the heartfelt posts after he told about his health he does indeed hold an element of respect.
