I suppose in the end Roy will make the decision for us.

I mighgt have the amount of appearances wrong, (46) but you should get the drift. Or maybe not..... In fact having done some research, 27 goals in 189 apps. Let's buy him! No thanks! Have we said that? But why try to coach a flair player to defend all the time? It’s not that difficult to get pissed off with. Can you honestly say that is why we bought Eze, to defend? FCUK ME It's called training and every single player has to learn about how to play as one in a team, do fans actually think Klopp doesn't make his squad learn how to defend as one, did nobody watch their performance against Villa, fans on here are nuts to think Eze can have his talents ruined by understanding the basic principles of defending as a team. Another thing, trying to compare us with Chelsea is totally ridiculous at this moment, how many mistakes did their team make as a whole unit against us? ..absolutely none, how many mistakes did we make? Chelsea also understand the gentle arts of how to stop teams and their attacks from beginning and that's what they did against us, all the very top sides do this, they make little to no mistakes and then use the professional foul ..and they then buy the best players in order to achieve this. We are miles and miles away from being able to fully compete with an on form Chelsea outfit and on Saturday they were on form believe me, lets move on and beat Brighton. Nope dont agree. If Roy does this with Eze, he'll ruin him. Why did he agree to signing him if he doesnt want him to flourish and express himself. Eze can offer so much more then he will be allowed to do. Its Roys job to set the team up around players like Eze. Not stifle his talent and shoe horn him into an unnatural position. I can see how this is going with Eze. Eze will end up on the bench and Roy can turn round and say he tried with him but he has so much to learn(he may) and he'll take time. Its just an excuse with Roy. Look at the players he ostracised - Meyer, camarasa players who could have added something creative centrally but lack the defensive qualities. Roy does not believe in these types of players full stop. All Qpr fans said he is not a wide midfielder.. we all knew thats where Roy would play him. To be honest the signing of Eze did not make sense to me to begin with.. he is NOT a Roy type signing. I think he went with it to appease Parish and Dougie.. and when hes inevitably on the bench he can say I tried with him. We will not see a change in this philosophy until he has gone. Villa should've been relegated with that unseen goal and Villa went into that match without any real hope of winning it didn't they, throwing players into that sort of game didn't show anything, they had three deflected goals that their keeper had no chance to stop and their keeper created an absolute mess for Villa's first, it just encouraged Liverpool to chase and chase and Villa to shoot and shoot with mistake over mistake, quite funny really couldn't happen to a better team lol.

Edited by MonsterMunch (05 Oct 2020 9.44am) Zaha is our only stand out top player. The rest are mid to lower table. The team can only punch at their current weight if it operates as a cohesive hard working unit where every player plays with full on energy and with solid defensive qualities. If you played with the free flowing attractive football everyone craves, we would go the way of Norwich. Loads of fans; and back down. Fortunately, our management know this and understand that Roy is who we need right now. Also, complaining about this weekend's result is unfair. There was a vast inequality of arms. Imagine where our club would be had we just spent £220M on players alone? We may have earned results against Chelsea in the past, but you have to put those down as anomalies. Had we been stuffed by Fulham, then let the blood-letting begin.

Edited by MonsterMunch (05 Oct 2020 9.44am) Understanding how to defend doesn't result in being unable to flourish and express oneself, I think Townsend so far this season looks quite brilliant and Roy had has hands all over him hasn't he. Meyer and the rest you mention are very obviously not quite up to it and it's very evident when they are playing against organised teams like Chelsea. Eze against Chelsea looked very calm and tricky, hence the eight fouls against him when moving forwards, teams aren't daft in this league and Chelsea soon realised that Eze had a lot of talent with making space for himself and beating players with ease like Zaha and quite often Ayew, Ayew has actually been fouled as many times as Zaha in the past for this very reason, teams know how to stop us and it's up to the officials to prevent this, Chelsea only received two yellow cards for their persistent niggling fouls and they were dished out way way too late to help us and stop Chelsea from basically cheating.

So correct it's silly. Have a re-read. Why buy a player of obvious attacking talent and try to dilute him into something he is not. No one is saying we should go hung ho, nobody is saying we should be going toe to toe with teams of obvious superior quality. But if you are trying to tell me we couldnt have got something out the game with more attacking tactics I cant help you. I was talking about Eze in particular.

When are never not in transition at this club. Roy could be doing more with what he has. He'll get us over the line im not saying he wont, He likely will. Doesnt mean I have to like Roy ball or have higher expectations. I seem to remember Steve P saying something similar once
