I wonder what labour think that what police cuts have to do with this incident? Maybe more police would mean more stop and search .......... oh, hang on, they’re against that.

Immediately Labour MP’s were responding with ‘police cuts.’ Although they’re right that it is an issue, like you say, that didn’t motivate him to be scum. And they should’ve waited a bit to find out he was dealing class B drugs as well as being on the terrorist watch list. Great. People on the terrorists have list in Croydon. Just warms your heart. Now where will one warped Cvnt decide to blow himself up in? I wonder. We know the Labour party have no credibility whatever. They are desperate for votes and will say or do anything to get them. Never forget Brexit and what those scumbags tried to do.

Labour are right as tory austerity has meant severe cuts to police and support services. The voters knew that when they voted for them, its no good crying wolf now. The Blair years had a successful policy 'tough on crime and its causes', it worked. But its not a question of one horrific isolated incident, things have to be seen in the round.

The Blair years were a long time ago and it did appear as though his policies were starting to get a handle on it. However Labour has changed beyond all recognition since then - although Starmer may drag it back. The Corbyn years were an unmitigated disaster and it will take a while for them to remove some of the idiots from that legacy. However, in this tragic case, police numbers feel irrelevant and gaining political points from this tragedy just articulates the depths and poor behaviours that politicians will sink to in a bid to feel better about themselves and their flawed policies.

A fair comment. It is a typically British political attitude to expect people on the front line to do their jobs with the minimum.

Most crime is committed by young men increase that demographic and what do you expect. Now would be a good time to increase police numbers, per head of population we have far fewer than other equivalent countries. Let's increase police, army and NHS staff to take up the slack as unemployment goes up.
