They paid £33m for him and they’re not going to make a massive loss on him- if he comes back and gets 15+ (based on his last loan that’s very possible) then Chelsea are probably going to want in the region of £30m+ for him. That’s a lot for us, but with proven quality, 26 years of age and 10+ goals per season, I think it’s worth serious consideration. Lots of ‘ifs and buts’ though..,

Loan is just a temporary solution for us - but is better than nothing.

Its a 12 month loan with a £20m deal for the following season Chelsea have helped Palace out as we get striker that we wanted now but Chelsea extend his contract so they still get the fee next season as Palace could not do this under the current budget due to FFP unless Zaha got sold which is looking very unlikely. Fantastic business alround for Palace turning out to be a great window.

Quite happy with this. The arrival of him and Eze certainly gives us a lot more options up front which is something we didn’t have last season.

I think for a long time now the main 3 positions that people considered were in most need of strengthening were: right-back (Ferguson) striker (Batshuayi) & creative midfielder (Eze). Hats off to Dougie et al for addressing (albeit a bit late) those areas in most need of attention I say. .....if we add into that Wilf staying then it 's got to be one of the best windows in recent years

Lots of ‘ifs and buts’ though.., We were linked with him at the same time he went to Chelsea for that kind of money. Fans were annoyed at Parish & Co for not signing him or Tosun when they moved to England, and for missing out on Darren Bent etc. The club have dodged a lot of bullets in terms of dodgy transfers over the years.

If it's just a loan then I suppose we'll just have to enjoy the ride while it lasts. If we can bring in another right midfielder/winger to challenge Andros then suddenly this looks like potentially being one of our best windows ever (especially if we do keep Wilf)

Not doubting you Dazza appreciate the input but I'm not seeing any permanent news really just a loan deal do you know somebody we dont I hope you do.
