We are allowed to get back into debt again, especially if it means signing young exciting players, who will keep us in the premiership, also more importantly, potentially have high sell on value.

Now being reported that we've offered to loan him with an obligation to buy in 12 months time. Unless Benrahma is desperate to leave I don't see why Brentford would accept that?[/quot

I don't believe that nonsense, due diligence will have been done on the player, to see whether he would be open to such a move.

His wages would be doubled, possibly trebled, and he gets to play in the premiership, what if he has a poor season in the championship? Then clubs lose interest, he wouldn't take that chance.

The only bookies taking bets on his next club are sky bet, and we are 1/4 for him to sign.

According to certain sauces, Benhrama is not a replacement for Zaha, Boga would be the replacement. 11 goals and 2 assists in 34 matches for Sassluolo in Serie A.

Pretty impresive, whatever happens, looks like exciting stuff for this season.

Well if f the situation is as dire as you make it sound then we are truly screwed if the answer is a league 1 player with experience of being relegated as a championship player.

Downes is a squad player at best or even a player to go straight out on loan...I’m just saying don’t get your hopes up that this lad starts in the 1st team anytime soon.

And no Kouyaté is not only going to play centre back from now on...that’s ludicrous. He’s playing there because we have injuries and he’s competent at centre back. If Roy needs him at centre mid he will play centre mid won’t he.

Careful Hudson. You are assuming that both Cahill and Tomkins will be back and able to perform at their previous level. They might be, but Tomkins has been out for several months now and Cahill is getting on. They both might make it back (I very much hope so) BUT if they don't then Kouyate is going to be playing CB regularly until we can get at least one replacement, so it's not ludicrous to think that Kouyate will continue at CB (a role he plays regularly for the national team) for some while yet.

I hope my fear about T & C are wrong and that K can get back to a midfield role.

He plays there internationally and did it a lot at WH - defo not ridiculous even if you dislike it.

We have as you say loads in central mid. McCarthy and Luka are probably ahead of him as DMs and Macca in the more offensive role. For me he looks excellent there. He had the ability to step out and play a ball. Only the ever absent Sakho can do that otherwise and how long is he going to stay?

Let’s track back a little on the Kouyaté chat.

I suggested we had ample cover for midfield and named Kouyaté as a centre mid which he is.

It was suggested he would be fully re purposed as a CB i.e. suggesting he couldn’t be considered a centre mid.

That is what I called ludicrous because that’s just someone trying to twist a current injury issue to suit their opinion on needing more midfielders.

I’d argue if the centre backs are that far away from coming back that we need another CB not a midfielder to replace Kouyaté because that is also a ludicrous idea.

Besides Tomkins is back in training now anyway I thought.

The only reason this would be an option is some sort of agreement between both clubs in the case that Wilf doesn't go and therefore limiting Benrahma's gametime (aswell as not having the cash) where he could be more valuable being back at Brentford for their promotion push. Option to buy fee would be agreed as part of the deal. Knowing us we have probably protracted the longest list of clauses which might even include loaning someone to them and things changing in Jan if Wilf goes then. Who knows..

It's not going to be a loan to buy option apparently
