Yes they are chotos Chris.....so in other words chargrilled steer cocks, easily found in any butchers in Uruguay. I think this is in a slightly different league to marmite on toast. You'd think they'd be bigger. You'd never feed a family with that. Perhaps with some Yorkshire Puddings and a bit of gravy.

I recall a popular sandwich bar in Dingwall Road called the 'Dingwall cafe' which was owned by a cheerful chap called Doug Ali who used to greet customers from behind the counter and take their orders. There was also another sandwich bar between Dingwall Road and East Croydon station which was run by an Italian lady and her English husband but I'm afraid I cannot recall it's name. Edited by Willo (25 Jan 2020 9.49am) willo, I think the dingwall café was by the pub(halfway down, pubs still there)

Panino bar in St Georges Walk used to do the BEST sandwich ever......Peanut butter, Liver sausage and Anchovy.....sounds gross but is actually VERY nice.....Is Georges Walk still there, is the Panino bar still operating....? I remember a place called Dantes which I think was St George’s walk, might be the same place. They used to make scrambled eggs in the steam of the espresso machine, frothed up lovely! Mind you this was mid 70s.
