Chinese New year celebrations this weekend and today. I guess negotiations will resume tomorrow or Wednesday.

Looks like we are going to be paying him £110 k a week with the Chinese picking up the balance.....he is a really good player and would take some of the pressure off Wilf.... it would hopefully enable us to finish higher up the table so it could pay for itself ...let’s see how it develops ....

I agree, this will be a massive coup should it come off,he was amazing at Athletico Madrid. Like Wilf he has lots of tricks in he's locker,he also knows where the goal is.

It sounds like there is serious negotiation going on, and still a few days to reach an agreement, tho final salary would be higher than £110, 000 quoted above. Fingers crossed!

Would be an amazing signing. Really hope we get him. If we have him and Wilf on the wings who's going to be number 1 choice up front. Tosun or Ayew?

Tosun I would guess, in that I think he is a better goal poacher than Ayew. But it’s all about building a first team squad, and giving better opportunities for rotation. And who knows, maybe he would fit in as a deep lying no 10?

What we then need to have is a plan B which alters the way we attack when things go wrong to suit Benteke/Tosun/Wickham. Sadly we don’t seem to have that in our locker.

Dom Fifield has always been more trustworthy in the past and he seems to think this is still on: [Link] Personally I hope this is a permanent deal, or at least a loan with the option of a purchase in the summer. If not then between him and Tosun we could be paying out £800k-£1 million per month on players we'll lose in the summer. I wonder if Freedman posted the agent's bail money?!!

A couple of the more reliable ITKs of Twitter have said Roy has veto’d the move as doesn’t want him. If that is the case it’s another example of the recruitment set up not working. There’s a hell of an overhaul needed with our squad and I can see Parish and Freedman now thinking there’s an issue with Roy. All speculative of course but a couple of the accounts on Twitter that have alluded to this appear credible.

We are desperate for some natural width on the right with Townsend out and he turns down a top quality goal scoring right winger. Expensive yes, but badly needed in everyone's view apart from Roy it seems.
