Can you imagined what an excuse in trousers you'd have to be to be hitched to Jess Phillips.

That's one axe wound I'd gladly pass on.

I think I could possibly slip Rebecca L-B one. A kind of guilty pleasure, a bit like Sarah Palin, if you will.

Wife beating may be socially acceptable in Sheffield, but it is a different matter in Cheltenham

Was rather impressed with Lisa Nandy and her speech. Appreciate that she is trailing the two main contenders in terms of nominations but given how Labour elect their leaders, I can see her doing well. Also, the only one whose hands are clean when it comes to Labours Brexit debacle and switching to a second referendum position.

She has made some impressive appearances and has the advantages, in some eyes, of being female, Northern and half Indian. Why these factors should matter more than her ability and competence is beyond me but they may well do.
I had forgotten the other candidates in 2015; they were Andy Burnham, Liz Kendall and Yvette Cooper of whom only the last is running this time.

Rebecca Long-Bailey is the bookies favourite. God help Labour if she gets the leadership. Miserable Corbynite with a face like a dog's arse.

I would leave Corbyn at the helm suported by McDonnell.

I never knew about the Indian bit. For me she is their stand out candidate because she is the only one who opposed the second referendum stance and recognised it for the disaster in waiting it was.

Showing more nous than the others combined. And come the time for scrutiny around policies, meaning she can easily brush off questions about it and focus on the future.

It is her or Starmer. Starmer looks the part but can a 'Sir' and somebody who was instrumental in causing Labours disastrous showing by his pushing of the second referendum policy unseat the Tories? I simply cannot see him energising the Labour vote in the constituencies it needs to win back.

Personally still hoping for that Rebecca Long Bailey woman. The perfect choice for those of us on the Right although I suspect Jess Phillips might also give us lots of chuckles. She is BAD on actual policy to the point of being almost a caricature. Pulling pints behind the bar of the Rovers Return and being gobby with it then yes but ask her anything even approaching a serious policy question and she melts.

Or Thornberry. But even Labour are not that stupid.

Labour are still firmly in the grip of Momentum.

They will choose a feminist loon.

I would call them the Famous Five but then I'd be lying as apparently the public when surveyed didn't recognise most of them.

Unless one of them has a personality bypass or Johnson implodes they will be Corbyn 2.0 in electoral terms.

And why Nandy stands out from the crowd. She was deemed to be a rouge voice, one of the awkward squad who refused to go along with the insanity that was their Brexit policy. Jess Phillips, for all her brashness was a huge Remainer and only ever got coverage because she made for good telly.

The other three...LOL. All up to their necks in the disaster that was December 2019 for Labour.
