I like him and think he'll eventually do well but can see him taking time to adjust like Che Adams did this year for the Saints.

Got to love Brentford, have already purchased OW replacement Toney for 5 mill ( why we didn’t buy him even as a back up etc etc ???) and will possibly make 20 mill profit on OW in one season .. built and opening a new ground for the cost of the stand we haven’t built .. Why the f haven’t we got a set up like Brentford?? Edited by kev64 (08 Sep 2020 3.12pm)

Fancy Ollie Watkins might be another Dominic Solanke, Che Adams, Jordan Hugill, Jarod Bowen, Neil Maupay-type player. Scores for fun in the Championship, struggles to score 5-a-season in the Prem.

Maupay scored 10 goals in 37 games for Brighton in the prem, so quite decent in his first season. Bowen signed in January and has only scored 1, but has looked good for West Ham, certainly one of there better players, when he signed. The others I agree with.

With the exception of Hugill I think all of those are good players and have the potential to become decent prem strikers the thing that goes against all of them is they're signed by lower table teams so unlikely to get huge amounts of chances combined with the pressure that they need to provide the bulk of goals for that team. Then add in the pressure of today's over inflated price tag they're basically set up to fail. I looked the other day at the last 7/8 seasons and there's very few players outside of the top 6 who score 15+ goals. Yet this is the dream that every club always thinks they're buying. A couple that spring to mind were Wilson, King and Ings...oh and Benteke but I think they've each only done it once.

Sad thing is Gribbo all those mentioned scored more than CB and (with the exception of Hugill) I’d welcome all of them to our squad!

They are £20m players so I am not so sure. Hopefully Bats will prove better value. Still lumbered with Benteke and WIckham though.

Might be good business but 28m + 5m is too much for us. Fair play to Villa, we move on. Love Brentford, what about Exeter with their 20% sell on fee. 5.5m for them will be massive.
