I do like rugby (both codes, actually) and I do like the world cup concept, and yes I do get that players need 'recovery time', however.... ...this does feel like a very long, drawn out affair with very little - or nothing at all - happening on most days. The great thing about international football tournaments is there is pretty much continual action, except for the few days between the semis and the final. Just saying. There is nowhere near the coverage to the same extent as football. At least Japan will possibly become a decent team after this. Conversely, the USA have done poorly. Therein lies the problem. Football is a far wider played and supported sport. It is marketed (and hyped) much more than rugby. World Rugby should think more about allowing much smaller countries to compete and spread the game. Instead they have killed off all of the Pacific Islands that used to be good and signed restrictive TV deals. There is no way they can get the audience football does if they continue down this route.

A footballer will trip over a blde of grass, roll over 162 times one way & 8 timer the other & will only stop if the oppo player is carded, THEN, they have have treatment, off/on pitch. Whereas, an 'egg-chaser' will have his(her) leg broken, eye gauged, ballcocks grabbed/stomped & still play on. Anyhoo, it is a longer tpurnement, but, players will be playing for thrir clubs withon a eeek or so, unli,e nambie pambie feet ball wimps.

Fluent in many forms of communication. Japan has been having typhoons at this time of year for centuries. World Rugby has organised this very poorly as there doesn’t seem to be a contingency plan in the event of a typhoon. You can guarantee the Japan v Scotland game will also be cancelled, as it will send Japan through and Scotland home.

Scotland considering legal action due to the cancellation of their game. And to be honest I can see their point, game called off host nation goes through, has more than a hint of "cheat" about it. However still funny as f***. Edited by Dannyh.V2 (11 Oct 2019 10.52am)

They should look at it as a blessing in disguise as it means they will now not get humiliated in the qtrs against the All Blacks
