I think you have slightly misinterpreted what has happened in this case, Barr tried to force a resignation from US Attorney General for Southern District of New York - Geoffrey Berman ten days ago, the White House announced he had left his post. Berman announced he hadn’t resign and had no plans to, they then tried to force him out which he only agreed to when Barr gave assurances that he wouldn’t put in Craig Carponto as an interim placeholder before nominating Jay Clayton (a man who has zero experience for the role as AG for SDNY and long time Barr lackey)

Instead they agreed that his role would be replaced by Audrey Strauss who had been working closely with Geoffrey Berman, 10 days later Strauss has brought charges against Maxwell, in what I suspect is an attempt to get these charges on the books before any further attempts to shake up the department.

Barr’s old law firm dealt with the plea deal which was won in Florida by Epstein after he plead guilty to soliciting underage prostitutes. That case was led by Alex Acosta who also worked at the law firm at the time of Barr. Acosta was promoted to Labour Secretary by Trump in 2017 before resigning in 2019 after criticism of his handling of the Epstein case. Barr already had to recuse himself from the internal Justice Department investigation into Alex Acosta’s handling of that early plea deal but hasn’t recused himself from the NY investigation into Epstein.

Also worth noting that Donald Barr, William Barr’s father was headmaster at Dalton School where Epstein was hired as a Maths teacher in the 70s despite being a college dropout. During his time at the school Epstein received multiple allegations of predatory behaviour towards teenage girls.

Donald Barr also wrote a very strange book called Space Relations which contains lots of very graphic depictions of rape and sexual exploitation of teenage sex slaves. The book was released a year before leaving his post as headmaster at Dalton School. Writing books is obviously not a crime, and maybe it’s more a testament to sexual attitudes of the 70s.
