Those will take a while to sort out. Tell people we’re operationally find at half time at the first home game when there’s no food, warm beer and coke. We might be fine in the main stand or in the Prem because we’ve spent more than a club of our size does or can afford if you factor in a few years into the future but I wouldn’t call it sound or fine until Zaha has left or retired and there’s some consistent and coherent strategies. No food, warm beer and coke.

Hi , I have asked this one before . i know we get 100 mill plus for just staying in the prem league ! but what about the income from say the sponsors and ticket sales and merchandise , does anyone know what the income from that is , also we have released a good few players the end of last season so that should be a good saving in the wages department ?

I cannot confess to reading the sun or any other newspaper actually apart from the occasional metro however I do search pretty hard on a daily basis for any news, quite probably like a lot of other fans. Given our track record of not signing anyone till very late in the window, which is a ridiculous game of brinkmanship considering the risk of losing out on targets, the pathetic start we make to each season and the fact that a transfer window is not sporadically announced as a surprise to anyone, coupled with the non-existence of any noteworthy news, I can say with a degree of certainty we are not ‘close’ to signing anybody. I could be wrong of course I could, however the odds are slim. I said I know for a ‘fact’ in an exhausted attempt to sarcastically answer another pussy post from somebody who feels as though they can reply to a genuine opening for discussion by attempting shoot it down. It does not make you look clever or righteous, it very much makes you look thick as mince and like some bitter, sad old c u next Tuesday. If you don’t want to discuss, or don’t have something of substance to say like “You never know, we could.... etc.” Then don’t post. Somebody did actually come back to me on this original post and I was grateful for their input and insight. I’d happily engage anyone with anything interesting to say in meaningful conversation."
The use of irony to mock or convey contempt Whoooosh!
Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!! |

I have reached the pissed off stage with our current transfer activity. I have still got the angry phase to come, and then just abject acceptance. The life of a Palace fan.

This was based on the fact I know nothing about the finances of running a club and was curious. I also posed this question with a subtle undertone of moaning but it what I had intended to be a satirical, light hearted manner. This question was, I suggest, answered quite well I believe by a 'Rudi Hedman' and I was grateful for the interaction. That should have been that really but was happy for others to add contributions of course. I then posted a genuine moan, perhaps as an act of rebellion, to give credence to the newly named thread. I am however beginning to get somewhat annoyed with the usual half-wits who seem to answer back to anything that constitutes a display of frustration against our lack of transfer activity with nothing whatsoever to say of substance.

Rudi - always one for a pedantic response. Operations in an accounting view is the standard income and outgoings. Transfers would be deemed an one off expenses so is not operational. By saying operationally we are fine means we can cover all standard outgoings with incomings i.e wages are covered by current revenue streams i.e we are not needing to sell players just to keep operating. This is clearly better than our championship days when we lost money operationally almost every season

Tipp in last years account total income was £150.3m. This is made up of gate receipts 10.9, sponsors 9.4, other commercial 5.8 and 'other' income of 3.0 with broadcasting being 121.1 So over 80% of our income is from Sky and other TV/radio revenue. Incidentally total wages were £117m

You seem to be frustrated with people picking you up on the claim to know for a fact. It's not people being righteous it is just pointless to make things up.

Seeing today that with Maguire off to Utd for 80m, Leicester are taking Lewis Dunk for 40m. That's all we need those pieces of driftwood on the coast having money to spend. They wont sod about and wait to the 11th hour of the transfer window.
