This story reeks of the agent/Hull trying to maximise their negotiating position to obtain the best possible deal.
There’s nothing wrong in this and they are entitled to do this.
Nonetheless , I genuinely was pleased when I heard that Bowen could be in his way to Palace.
He scores poacher’s goals and individual goals and I’ve long thought he would make a good signing.
Now stories are emerging that he’s plan B for Palace if Carrasco deal doesn’t come off.
Personally I still hope we can get Bowen over the line.

Interesting timing choice by the club to wait until the last 2 days to try this transfer. I suspect that if Palace had submitted a bid at the start of the window, then Bowen would have been approached by some other club too.

But Palace directors took their time and just noticed that no PL club had submitted a bid for Bowen, not even his former manager Steve Bruce. Newcastle got Lazaro as a winger and they also have Almiron, Saint Maximin, Atsu, so hard to get another one, Wolves got Podence, Watford got Pussetto, Norwich got Duda from Germany, Leicester and West Ham were battling it out for Lyon's Bertrand Traore.

Bowen knows that he can't get a Top 6 transfer at this point. He's on a very low salary at Hull. I think that he will accept Palace's offer. 99%. He looks at the table, he is almost certain that he will have 6 months of PL time this seasons and that Palace will stay up at least 1 more year giving him another certain 12 months. Going from 25.000 a week to something like 75.000 is enough for him at this point.

Palace transfer negotiators have left competitors just 24 hours to come to an understanding with Bowen and Hull when they were nowhere near them. Is this good transfer strategy? Hmmm....

Roy supposedly has said that there is no Palace deal in the pipeline. I'd be overjoyed to see Bowen and Ferguson or the likes of Bogle join. We've never really tapped the Championship and there is some young, in form quality there.
